- In recent years, Diem He commune has been gradually affirming the right direction in rural economic development. Thanks to the orientation and support of the government in building and developing production models, people's lives have been increasingly improved, and the rural appearance has become more prosperous.

Diem He commune was established on the basis of merging the communes: Diem He, Lien Hoi, Tran Ninh. Before the merger, Diem He commune was recognized as an advanced new rural commune, Lien Hoi and Tran Ninh communes were recognized as new rural communes.

Walking along the villages of Diem He commune today, we easily come across orchards or anise forests that are planted and cared for by the people. A typical example is the family of Mr. Ly Van Tam, Na Sung village, who has proactively changed the crop structure, taking advantage of the area at the foot of the hill to grow dragon fruit. Mr. Tam said: In 2012, realizing that dragon fruit has a higher selling price than other fruits, my family planted 100 dragon fruit trees. Through the care process, I saw that the trees grow well, suitable for the local natural conditions, so every year I plant new trees and expand the area. Up to now, my family has about 400 dragon fruit trees. Each year, we harvest 4-5 crops, with an average total output of about 3-4 tons, bringing in an income of about 60 million VND. In early 2025, my family received support from the commune government with 1 water pump and 400m of pump hose, creating favorable conditions for the family to develop the model.

Not only the people in Na Sung village, many households in other villages are also actively developing production and improving their lives. Mr. Hua Van Khiem, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Na Bung village said: In recent years, implementing the policies and orientations of the superiors, based on the advantages of the village, we have promoted people to focus on developing production, in which, focusing on developing star anise, dragon fruit trees... At the same time, creating conditions for people to participate in training courses on cultivation and livestock raising techniques organized by associations, unions, and specialized units. Currently, the whole village has over 5 hectares of dragon fruit, 26 hectares of star anise, 17 hectares of acacia..., bringing significant income to households.

In order to develop production and increase people's income, in recent times, the commune government has always paid attention to directing specialized departments to promote propaganda work on production development and change farmers' awareness of agricultural development. At the same time, the Commune People's Committee, based on actual conditions, selects advantageous agricultural products to orient, propagate and support development. Accordingly, the Commune People's Committee has coordinated with relevant units to support people in developing models such as growing dragon fruit, persimmons, star anise... Participating in the models, people are trained in care techniques, pest control, and are supported with seeds and fertilizers.

According to statistics, the whole commune currently has economic models such as: growing dragon fruit (17 hectares), Vanh Khuyen persimmon (38 hectares), watermelon (7.8 hectares), banana (10 hectares), star anise (1,582 hectares), acacia (389 hectares), so (35 hectares), vegetables (210 hectares) ... The models are developing well, bringing economic efficiency to the people, the average income of the models is from 50 to 80 million VND/household/year, high-income households reach 100 - 200 million VND. In addition, the commune also develops a model of purchasing and processing star anise. Currently, the whole commune has more than 100 households purchasing and processing star anise, with an output of about 1,500 - 2,000 tons of dried star anise/year, with an average income of 200 - 500 million VND/year for each star anise processing household.

Production development has directly contributed to the income and multidimensional poverty criteria in new rural construction. At the same time, people have also enthusiastically contributed funds and donated land to build roads, cultural houses, etc. Accordingly, from 2023 to now, people in the commune have contributed over 2.5 billion VND, donated more than 25,500 m2 of land to join hands to implement criteria such as: traffic, irrigation, environment, cultural facilities, etc.

Mr. Nong Van Tung, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: In the coming time, the Commune People's Committee will continue to promote the national target program on new rural construction; in which, focusing on development orientation, expanding effective production models, strengthening processing associated with linking product consumption, contributing to maintaining the criteria in new rural construction, striving for the end of 2026, the commune will achieve 19/19 new rural criteria, by the end of 2030 the commune will achieve 19/19 advanced new rural criteria.

Thanks to the correct direction and orientation of the government and the activeness and proactiveness of the people, people's lives have been increasingly improved, and the appearance of the commune's rural areas has improved. As of July 2025, through reviewing the criteria, the commune has achieved 18/19 new rural criteria.
