On June 3, according to information from the Departmentof Education and Training (DET) of Ca Mau province, through statistics of the 2025 high school graduation mock exam of the province, the graduation rate of students passing the exam was more than 95.8% (about 0.17% lower than in 2024).
The province has 34 high schools and continuing education centers, of which 15 units have a lower graduation rate than in 2024; only one unit has a 100% rate, which is Phan Ngoc Hien High School for the Gifted.

Through score statistics, there were 76 failing scores (an increase of 56 points compared to 2024). Of which, the highest number of failing scores were in the literature and math exams.
The average score of subjects with a score of 5 or higher (calculated for 9 subjects corresponding to 2024) also decreased by 4.4%. Of which, 7 subjects had a decrease in score, only 2 subjects had an increase in score: history and English.
The Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province said that this is the first year of taking the exam according to the 2018 general education program. For students taking the exam and teachers teaching the exam, the exam structure is new, so it is not possible to fully evaluate the experience and compare the results with the previous year (according to the 2006 general education program).
According to the Department of Education and Training, the results of this mock test help assess the level and capacity of students and the teaching quality of teachers.
Through this, teachers can determine the level of knowledge, understanding and application of students, thereby adjusting the content and teaching methods effectively. As for students, they can self-assess their abilities through scores to adjust their attitudes and behaviors during review.
With this mock test result, the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province also warned that some students are at risk of failing to graduate due to their low test scores (many failing scores and scores below 5); low test scores by block, making it difficult to enter prestigious universities.
The Department of Education and Training requested units and schools to organize school-level experience sharing on the results of the mock exam; at the same time, organize test corrections and experience sharing for students in taking the exam and implementing the exam regulations.
In reviewing for graduation exams, it is necessary to pay attention to and help students with weak academic performance and those at risk of failing graduation; organize student streams for review and find solutions to prevent failing grades.
Along with that is good coordination with parents in management, creating the best conditions for quality and effective exam preparation; organizing support for candidates in travel, accommodation, time, etc., especially for candidates with difficult circumstances.
According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, it is possible that because it is a mock exam, some students/trainees still have a dependent mentality and low motivation to take the exam, so there are phenomena such as: Writing the wrong exam code, registration number; filling in with ink pen, duplicate boxes, blurred so the machine cannot scan or reports an error.
The essay subject is presented in a sketchy and careless manner, so the results do not reflect the actual ability of the students. In addition, candidates also make mistakes such as: Using a pencil to underline and write strange characters and symbols in the test (according to the regulations, candidates are not allowed to mark or make their own symbols, and are not allowed to write in pencil, except for filling in the boxes on the multiple-choice answer sheet; they are only allowed to write in one color of ink, blue or black).
Currently, there are exam solving software that students have installed in their personal phones. Therefore, there needs to be a suitable solution to prevent violations of exam regulations during the official exam.
Students need to be more careful during the test to avoid unnecessary mistakes.
