Aquaculture area is estimated at 8,965 hectares

According to information from the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance, in the first 6 months of 2025, the aquaculture area in the whole province is estimated at more than 8,965 hectares, reaching 89.7% of the plan and 101% over the same period.

Investing in high-tech shrimp farming to reduce risks and increase output

Of which, freshwater aquaculture is 6,505.9 hectares, brackish water aquaculture is 2,459.2 hectares. Along with that, aquaculture output is estimated at more than 8,478 tons, reaching 37.2% of the plan and equal to 96.3% over the same period, of which freshwater aquaculture is more than 5,266 tons, brackish water aquaculture is more than 3,211 tons.

Head of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control Tran Xuan Tien said: The target for 2025 is 9,955 hectares of aquaculture in the province, of which 2,869 hectares are brackish water aquaculture and 7,086 hectares are freshwater aquaculture. To achieve the set target, in the coming time, the unit will continue to strengthen propaganda work, instructing farmers to comply with the recommendations of professional agencies on the schedule for releasing seeds, disease prevention and control measures, farming techniques... At the same time, guide people to convert suitable farming objects; encourage people and call on businesses to invest in the field of aquaculture in the direction of high technology, seed production and seafood processing; coordinate well in monitoring and warning the environment in brackish water shrimp farming areas; regularly monitor farming areas, early detect diseases...
