DIFF 2025 and the forecast of 'burning' Da Nang summer with diverse art events

After many years of organization, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) has become a brand event of the Han River city, attracting the attention of millions of domestic and foreign tourists. DIFF 2025 and in the coming years are expected to become a playground for leading art events in the country, not just stopping at fireworks shows.

 

“Improving” the fireworks festival

At the press conference to launch the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2025 held on the morning of January 8, representatives ofSun Group and leaders of departments, agencies and sectors of Da Nang city together proposed improvements to elevate DIFF, turning this festival into a diverse art playground. Sun Group, the event organizer, shared that in DIFF 2025, fireworks will no longer be the only highlight, but will be combined with other art forms such as music, lighting, dance and fashion, creating a unique and modern art space.

“The format of this year’s DIFF art program will be especially youthful, vibrant and more “trendy”, affirmed a representative of Sun Group Corporation - the co-organizer of DIFF 2025. It is expected that each competition night of DIFF 2025 will be a vibrant live concert with the participation of famous domestic and foreign artists, combining fireworks, music and modern technology, bringing visitors experiences beyond expectations. The event space will also be invested in aesthetics, art and digital transformation applications to optimize the experience for visitors.

Accompanying this year's fireworks festival is the Sun Paradise Land (SPL) application - where visitors can personalize their Da Nang travel schedule, buy fireworks tickets and entrance tickets to major entertainment centers, or even vote for the winning team each night to receive lucky gifts... In particular, AR technology (augmented reality) is integrated into the application for the first time, allowing visitors everywhere, whether in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City or Phu Quoc, to immerse themselves in the Da Nang fireworks sky with unique effects, creating a strong spread.

It can be seen that DIFF 2025 promises to have many improvements compared to the previous year, to increasingly affirm the attraction and value of the most typical event in Da Nang. Even according to the organizers, famous music programs such as Anh trai vuon ngan cong gai, Anh trai say Hi... are expected to be brought to DIFF. If this becomes a reality, DIFF 2025 will not only be a fireworks display, but also a "playground" for leading art events in the country, even internationally in the future.

Expectations for a fireworks ecosystem

The improvements and determination that Da Nang has set for DIFF cannot easily come true when the city's infrastructure cannot meet the needs of large events, especially when DIFF is entering a new phase - "combining with giants". If the music concerts Anh trai vu ngan cong gai or Anh trai say Hi are performed in conjunction with DIFF, the number of audiences for a show could reach 30,000 - 40,000 people, while the capacity of the DIFF 2025 stands is expected to be more than 10,000 seats.

 

That is why, in an interview with the press on January 8, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh expected a fireworks ecosystem project for Da Nang. In particular, DIFF needs a fixed grandstand, not only to meet the needs of organizing fireworks festivals, but also to become the infrastructure for major music events that can take place throughout the year.

“The international fireworks complex project is a project that the city is very interested in and is removing difficulties and obstacles for early implementation. The Da Nang Department of Tourism also proposed to the city that this will be one of three breakthroughs to promote the tourism industry for 2025, in terms of tourism products, market promotion, flight routes and service quality. In particular, for new tourism products, the city will have solutions to speed up progress and soon start construction to include this international fireworks complex project,” said Ms. Hanh.

 

Mr. Huynh Nam Thang, General Director of Sun Group Central Region - the organizer of DIFF 2025, also has high expectations: "If invested in a high-quality infrastructure system, typically a square or stage, a large-scale fireworks stand, DIFF will certainly be elevated to a new level, and at the same time contribute to making Da Nang a festival and event destination all four seasons". According to Mr. Thang, at that time, the Han River city will not only be crowded with tourists during the fireworks season, but can also become a meeting place for entertainment events, large-scale shows and international music festivals.

Many experts predict that DIFF 2025 will continue to set a record for the number of visitors to the Han River city this summer, as 2025 also marks an important milestone – the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang. Mr. Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, predicts that the number of international visitors will increase by about 20-25%, while domestic visitors will increase by about 10%.

“DIFF promises to continue to be a magnet, helping to rapidly increase the number of domestic and foreign visitors,” Mr. Dung affirmed. He believes that after the famous events expected to be launched at DIFF are officially announced and the international fireworks complex project is completed, the festival will continue to increase in popularity. DIFF will not simply be a fireworks festival, but in the future will be a playground for all the most famous events.
