Nguyen Dinh Bac was called up to the Vietnam national team last year, when he was only 20 years old. At that time, Dinh Bac was a favorite student of coach Philippe Troussier (French). He left some marks at the final round of the 2023 Asian Cup, scoring a goal against Japan.
However, those initial successes made Dinh Bac show signs of complacency. This player lost his form and was undisciplined when he returned to his home team, and then he received internal disciplinary action at Quang Nam Football Club in the 2023-2024 season.

After going through difficult days at the Quang Nam team, Nguyen Dinh Bac was given a chance to start over by the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN). The midfielder born in 2003 joined this team and he gradually found himself again.
Although Dinh Bac has not yet been able to get a regular place in the CAHN club under coach Mano Polking in the 2024-2025 season, his performance has been better than in mid-2024.
After the 2024-2025 season, Dinh Bac was called up by coach Kim Sang Sik to the Vietnam U23 team to prepare for the U23 Southeast Asian tournament in Indonesia. In the context of the injury of the number one striker in the 23-year-old age group of Vietnamese football, Bui Vi Hao, the expectations for Nguyen Dinh Bac are even greater.
However, doubts about Dinh Bac's form when the U23 Southeast Asian tournament just started were still evident. These doubts only eased when the player currently playing for CAHN scored the winning goal for U23 Vietnam in the final match of the group stage against U23 Cambodia.

Then that doubt completely disappeared when he scored the equalizer in the semi-final match against U23 Philippines, contributing greatly to the 2-1 victory of the team under coach Kim Sang Sik. This victory brought U23 Vietnam to the final.
In the final match against U23 Indonesia, although Dinh Bac did not score, his contribution to U23 Vietnam was still significant. Dinh Bac's presence in the forward line created great alertness for the U23 Indonesia defenders, forcing them to not be able to support the attack.
Also in the final match, Dinh Bac was very active in moving around, putting pressure on the defense of the young team of the archipelago, contributing to the exhaustion of the U23 Indonesian defenders. He left the field at the end of the match, after completing his offensive mission, making way for center-back Le Van Ha to come on the field, to strengthen the defense.
The title of best player of the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament is a worthy reward for Nguyen Dinh Bac, recognizing his efforts and mark in this tournament. He became the first Vietnamese player to receive the title of best player of this tournament.
This could be the premise for the player currently playing for CAHN Club to focus more on dedicating himself in the future, contributing more to Vietnamese football.
