After arriving in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on October 7, U23 Vietnam officially began their training trip to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

On the morning of October 8, the coaching staff organized light exercises in the hotel grounds to help the players relax their muscles, release energy, and adapt to the changes in weather and time zones in the UAE. The players were in a relaxed, excited, and focused mood before the upcoming two friendly matches with U23 Qatar.

Regarding the squad composition, after midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien suffered a thigh muscle overload, and striker Nguyen Ngoc My suffered an adductor injury and had to stay home for treatment, two additional players were called up, Le Dinh Long Vu (SLNA) and Nguyen Le Phat ( Ninh Binh ), who quickly integrated into the team.

As planned, in the afternoon of the same day, U23 Vietnam entered a tactical training session. Before the two matches against U23 Qatar, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh held a technical meeting to plan tactics and lineup for U23 Vietnam.

Through two matches, coach Dinh Hong Vinh tested the team's strength, perfected the playing style and evaluated the performance of each position, before entering the campaign to conquer the 33rd SEA Games gold medal and the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
