According to the forecast of the Dong Thap Province Hydrometeorological Station, by the end of July, water levels in places in the province will be approximately the same or higher than the same period last year and the average of many years by about 0.1 - 0.3m.
Water levels in the province will continue to rise following the tides and upstream floods in August and September. By the end of September 2025, the highest water level in the upstream area will be approximately at alert level I, the water level in the Thap Muoi inland area will be at alert level II, and the water level in the southern area will exceed alert level III by about 0.1 - 0.2m.
Water levels at stations on the Mekong mainstream are rising rapidly. The total flow through Kratie (Cambodia) in the next 3 months will be 15-20% higher than the average of many years and the same period in 2024; the flow through Can Tho and My Thuan will be 5-10% higher than the average of many years.
The highest water level of the year in various places in the province is forecasted to peak in the first 20 days of October, the flood peak in the upstream area fluctuates at alert level I, the Thap Muoi inland area at alert levels II and III; the highest high tide peak of the year in the southern area is about 0.1 - 0.3m higher than alert level III.
The flood peak in 2025 will be approximately 0.1 - 0.3m higher than in 2024.
From September to December, the total flow from the upper Mekong River to the lower Mekong River Delta is 5-10% lower than the average of many years.
