French Embassy delegation works with Dien Bien province

Members of the French Embassy delegation introduced some projects being implemented by the French Development Agency in Dien Bien province.

At the meeting, Dien Bien province discussed the development project implemented by AFD in the province; discussed the exchange proposal between Kerraoul High School of France and Luong The Vinh High School, Dien Bien Phu city.

Currently, Dien Bien province is implementing the Nam Rom River Basin Multi-Disaster Management Project using ODA capital from the French Development Agency (AFD) to protect people's lives, adapt to climate change and develop the economy - society, with a total investment of more than 981 billion VND. Currently, the project is implementing 5/7 construction packages. Basically, the contents and items of the project are being implemented by Dien Bien province to meet the schedule and quality requirements...

Regarding the exchange content between the French Kerraoul High School and Luong The Vinh High School, Dien Bien province basically agreed. At the same time, it requested the French Embassy to issue an official document proposing the above contents to the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee so that the province could implement them in accordance with regulations on foreign affairs.

Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented a souvenir to Mr. Olivier Brochet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam.

With the desire and effort to promote the friendship and cooperation between Dien Bien province and French agencies and organizations to develop more and more, Dien Bien province hopes that the Ambassador will continue to pay attention to consider investing in the Nam Rom River Basin Multi-Disaster Management Project to protect people's lives, adapt to climate change and develop the socio-economic development of Dien Bien province in phase II through the French Development Agency; soon sponsor the lighting system for Muong Thanh bridge; at the same time sponsor the province with the lighting system for A1 bridge with a total estimated cost of 4.7 billion VND; continue to pay attention, support and assist in investing in the project on integrated water resource management to serve people's lives, adapt to climate change and develop the socio-economic development of Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province...

Mr. Olivier Brochet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam, highly appreciated the thoughtful and warm welcome of the leaders of Dien Bien province for the working delegation; at the same time, he emphasized that Dien Bien province is one of the localities with many potentials and advantages that the French Government is very interested in and will soon have proposals on the implementation of projects as well as some contents mentioned by the leaders of Dien Bien province.
