Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Inspector General of the Government of Vietnam Duong Quoc Huy said that the Government Inspectorate and the Ministry of Inspection of Cambodia have a friendly, good and effective cooperative relationship, which has been built and nurtured since the 1990s of the last century. Generations of leaders of the two agencies have signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation five times. It can be said that this visit and working session of the Minister has opened a new chapter for the good cooperative relationship between the two inspection agencies of the two countries.
The arrangement for the Minister and the delegation to visit one of the important economic groups of Vietnam is because the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group is an economic-industrial group that plays a key role, a pillar of the economy, is a tool for regulating the macro-economy of the Government, plays a backbone role in energy security, food security, economic security, national defense security, and makes an important contribution to the cause of building and protecting national sovereignty . Each year, the Group contributes hundreds of thousands of billions of VND, accounting for about 10% of the total state budget revenue, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.
Overview of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, Mr. Le Ngoc Son, General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group said, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group is a state-owned enterprise with the task of managing and implementing oil and gas activities in Vietnam and investing abroad.
With over 60 years of establishment and development, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group has now become one of the leading state-owned enterprises and economic groups, building a closed value chain with 5 areas of operation: Oil and gas exploration and exploitation; Gas industry; Oil and gas processing; Electricity and renewable energy industry; High-quality oil and gas technical services.
By the end of 2023, the Group's total consolidated assets were equivalent to 42.5 billion USD, consolidated equity was 22.3 billion USD, and the State budget contribution accounted for 9% of the country's total revenue. The Group was confirmed by the world's leading credit rating organization Fitch Ratings to have a credit rating of BB+. The brand value in 2023 reached 1.4 billion USD.
At the meeting, delegates also heard Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong, Deputy Head of Internal Control Department of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, introduce the Internal Control System of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.
On behalf of the high-ranking delegation of the Cambodian Ministry of Inspection, Mr. Huot Ha thanked the leaders of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group for the warm, respectful and sincere welcome to the delegation.
On behalf of the Cambodian Government, Cambodian Minister of Inspection Hout Hak congratulated the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group on its achievements over the past time, especially in the industrial sector such as renewable energy, oil and gas exploration and exploitation..., which have been highly appreciated and recognized by many international organizations as being on par with many large corporations in the world.
The Cambodian Inspectorate Minister wished the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group to grow stronger and achieve more successes. At the same time, he suggested that in the coming time, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group should consider investing in Cambodia in the exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in Cambodia, especially in the fields of petroleum and gas.
