Representatives of the Provincial People's Committee participating in the delegation included Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

In the morning, the delegation conducted a field survey at two major projects: Phuoc An Port and the extended Le Hong Phong road.

Phuoc An Port is invested by Phuoc An Port Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company (PAP Company), with a total capital of nearly 1 billion USD. The port plans to clear 8 million TEU of goods/year, including 9 berths, with a total length of 2.8km, receiving ships with a capacity of 30-60 thousand DWT. Phase 1 includes 2 berths (670m) and has been put into operation since December 2024. Currently, the port receives about 20 large international ships per month. The investor is actively promoting cooperation with domestic and foreign shipping lines and enterprises to attract more goods.

At the meeting with the monitoring delegation, PAP Company proposed that the province soon invest in completing the route connecting the port with the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, including the proposal to expand the existing route from 60m to 120m; add a second route to break the monopoly; plan a commercial - service area; approve the investment policy of Phuoc An Industrial Park; adjust the planning of the Phu My - Ho Chi Minh City gas pipeline passing through the port. The enterprise expects to create a chain of dynamic links to promote the province's GRDP growth to reach double digits.

For the Le Hong Phong extended route, the project is facing difficulties due to lack of construction materials, especially construction stone. This route is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang acknowledged the recommendations and said that the Government has allowed the province to adjust the planning according to a shortened process. The province will consider adding strategic traffic routes, especially the routes connecting to Long Thanh International Airport and Phuoc An Port. Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang also shared the current difficulties in ensuring material sources for the construction of key projects.

Provincial Party Committee member and Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Bui Xuan Thong said that the goal of the monitoring session is to evaluate the implementation of planning, management and land use in the 2021-2025 period, thereby proposing adjustments suitable to the development reality in the next period.

According to Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Bui Xuan Thong, the reality shows that the transport infrastructure system of Dong Nai as well as the whole region in the past has not met the development needs. In the coming time, the province will implement a series of major transport projects such as highways, roads, high-speed railways, etc. Therefore, adjusting planning and land use targets is inevitable to meet the requirements of sustainable development.
