At the Vietnam - Laos Martyrs Cemetery, the Hanoi City delegation performed incense offering and ceremonies at the altar of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs, commemorated the heroic martyrs at the Monument of the Fatherland, and burned incense at the martyrs' graves...
The Vietnam - Laos Martyrs' Cemetery covers an area of nearly 7 hectares, and is the largest cemetery in gathering the graves of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and died in Laos. This is also the only cemetery in Vietnam named after two countries and two ethnic groups, to remember and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who fought side by side with the Pathet Liberation Army to protect the two countries.

This cemetery was built in 1976, with 2 areas: Area A and Area B. Area A consists of 9 lots with a total of 5,381 graves. Area B consists of 13 lots with a total of 5,219 graves, and a grave lot of martyrs with 11 graves. Since its construction, the cemetery has received and cared for nearly 11,000 remains of martyrs who died on the battlefield in Laos and brought here to rest. Of these, there are about 6,900 graves with unknown names and hometowns; 570 graves have names, but unknown hometowns.

Next, the Hanoi delegation visited Truong Bon Historical Relic Site (Do Luong District, Nghe An Province) - a national historical and cultural relic, built on an area of over 21 hectares, inaugurated in August 2015.
Truong Bon is a 5km long steep pass on the Thung Nua mountain range, part of the strategic road 15A passing through My Son commune, Do Luong district, one of the roads most heavily bombed by the US from 1964 to 1968, having to endure thousands of bombings. Thousands of cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, transport workers, and militiamen were injured; 1,240 cadres and soldiers fought and sacrificed here. Notably, 13/14 youth volunteers of the Suicide Squad sacrificed their lives while filling bomb craters on October 31, 1968, just hours before the implementation of the bombing restriction in the North.
Moved by the story of the legendary Truong Bon route, the Hanoi City delegation performed the ceremony of offering incense at the mass grave of 13 youth volunteer martyrs located in the relic complex, and visited the Memorial House of 1,240 heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives on this historic route. The more grateful we are for the sacrifices of the heroic martyrs, the more we appreciate the value of peace, vowing to strive to study and work better in each position, contributing to the common development.
