A group of nearly 500 Indian tourists will explore Ho Chi Minh City

On July 23, information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that the Department had just organized a reception for a group of nearly 500 guests from HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company from India who were participating in a tour to explore, experience and attend a conference in the city. The tour was organized by Asia Destination Management Joint Stock Company from July 20 to July 25.

Specifically, this tourist group will attend conferences, stay at hotels, visit the War Remnants Museum, City Post Office , Ben Thanh Market, Cu Chi Tunnels... experience and enjoy Vietnamese and Indian cuisine at some restaurants in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Tourism Promotion Center, said that the tourism industry in Ho Chi Minh City is very happy that MICE tourists have chosen the city as a tourist destination. With its advantages and potential, the city's tourism industry will have more motivation to recover soon and continue to affirm its position as one of the leading tourist destinations in the Vietnamese tourism industry.

The event of welcoming MICE guests is a signal that the international tourism market has begun to show positive movements, Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City have become destinations of interest to international tourists. According to statistics, in the first 7 months of 2023, international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City reached more than 2.3 million, an increase of 208.3% over the same period last year; domestic tourists reached more than 18.6 million, an increase of 40% over the same period last year. Total tourism revenue reached more than 93,500 billion VND, an increase of 55% over the same period last year.

"One of the important contributions to that achievement is MICE tourism. MICE tourism has contributed to promoting the city's tourism industry to recover quickly and transform strongly. MICE is identified as one of the 7 typical tourism products with great potential that need to be promoted in the tourism development strategy" - said a representative of the Department of Tourism.

To attract this type of tourist, the City Department of Tourism has issued the "HCMC MICE Tourism Policy" to support and reward business conferences such as reception and welcome programs; souvenir gifts for group leaders; support for ticket discounts at some tourist attractions in the city...
