According to the plan, this route is about 6.7km long, with the starting point connecting to the asterisk intersection between Thang Long Avenue and National Highway 21 (QL21), Thach Hoa commune, Thach That district. And the end point connecting to Hoa Lac - Hoa Binh road at the intersection with Van Hoa village road, Yen Binh commune, Thach That district with a cross-section of 120m - 180m.

On the route, there are 4 bridges (over rivers, level crossings) and 5 tunnels (1 underpass running directly along the main route serving the expressway component and 4 underpasses for people crossing the road).

The project has a total investment of more than 5,200 billion VND, from the city budget and central support.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the investment in the Thang Long Avenue expressway, the section connecting National Highway 21 to the Hanoi - Hoa Binh expressway, aims to gradually complete the entire Hanoi - Hoa Binh expressway; develop and expand the capital Hanoi to the West and Southwest, meeting the rapidly increasing transportation demand between the center of the capital and the western region and connecting with the Ho Chi Minh route.

In addition, after completion, it will improve operating conditions, ensure traffic safety, and connect the western and southwestern provinces with the capital. It will create conditions for socio -economic development, security and defense, and be the driving force for the development of the Hoa Lac satellite urban area and the western satellite urban chain./.
