Business accused of erecting iron fences, encroaching on Xuan Huong Lake road

Enterprises arbitrarily erected iron fences encroaching on the road boundary of Xuan Huong Lake.

On May 9, residents of Than Tho Lake Residential Group (Ward 12, Da Lat City) were upset and complained that Thuy Duong Company Limited - the unit managing and exploiting Than Tho Lake Scenic Relic in Da Lat City (located in Wards 9 and 12, Da Lat City), had arbitrarily erected iron fences encroaching on the road boundary of Xuan Huong Lake to plant trees and flowers for the purpose of exploiting tourism of the enterprise.

Former garbage collection area for residents

It is worth mentioning that the fenced area is located right at the intersection of a residential area, with many vehicles entering and exiting, causing traffic insecurity. Some residents of the Xuan Huong Lake Model Residential Group were upset: Hiding under the name of beautification, the enterprise has occupied the entire sidewalk on the negative slope, more than 500 m long (from Than Tho Lake dam to the intersection of Than Tho Lake Residential Group, Ward 12, Da Lat City). This is a very beautiful road, the state has just invested billions of dong in upgrading and paving the asphalt, but the sidewalk has been occupied by the enterprise. Although the residents have repeatedly reported it to the authorities, it has not been thoroughly handled.

Now the sidewalk has been dug up to plant flowers and trees.

Not only that, inside the sidewalk (right at the intersection), the company has now built an iron fence, where the neighborhood residents used to gather garbage trucks for decades. Now people have dug up the concrete of the garbage truck parking area, encroached on it to plant cotton, then pushed the garbage trucks out onto the street, and the company still dumps garbage there, but has assigned security guards to prevent people from dumping garbage during the day, making the residents angry.

According to the residents, in response to the reactions of many people, the ward has repeatedly tried to persuade people to bring garbage trucks into the residential area, but people did not agree because it is a model residential area. The local government also asked the business to dismantle the temporary iron fence located within the Xuan Huong Lake road, but so far it remains the same.

Regarding the incident, the leader of Ward 12 People's Committee, Da Lat City said that the ward is checking and will immediately dismantle the illegal iron fence.
