Enterprises join hands to write an epic poem about the sea and islands

The solid and sturdy cultural house on Co Lin Island, built by Agribank , is a symbol of the cooperation between businesses and the army, contributing to improving the spiritual life of soldiers on remote islands.

• BRICKS OF LOVE

Across the beloved S-shaped strip of land, from large programs to small activities calling for contributions and joining hands for the sea and islands have received enthusiastic responses not only from officials, civil servants, and people but also received special support and attention from the business community.

They are not only businessmen , but also children of the country, always looking towards the sea and islands with respect and through specific, practical actions.

Representatives of Agribank and leaders of Working Group No. 18 of Lam Dong province presented gifts and national flags to fishermen who were anchoring their fishing boats to get fresh water and mend their nets at Truong Sa island.

During the trip with Working Group No. 18 to visit the islands and DK 1 platform organized by the Navy, Naval Region 4 from May 4 to 9, 2025, I witnessed the responsible and practical companionship of Agribank for the officers and soldiers who are day and night firmly protecting the sovereignty of the islands and seas on the outpost islands of the Fatherland.

The solid, 3-storey cultural house rising up in the middle of the vast ocean, on the island of the Fatherland's outpost that often endures harsh winds and waves, has created a special impression for the members of the working delegation. This is a project invested in by Agribank staff and employees as a gift for the soldiers of Co Lin island. It is both a sense of responsibility and a demonstration of the enterprise's affection for the navy soldiers. This project is also a symbol of solidarity, strength and Vietnamese spirit.

On the same trip, there was the responsible and active participation of Lam Dong Lottery Company, Lam Dong Aluminum Company Limited, Sacom Tuyen Lam Joint Stock Company, Thuy Duong Company Limited and a number of other businesses. In addition to their feelings, they also brought meaningful gifts and had connecting activities to leave deep feelings for the soldiers and people on the islands and DK1 platform.

Truong Sa Island is becoming greener and more modern thanks to the consensus of all levels, sectors, people and the business community.

In particular, businesses in Lam Dong province on this trip contributed 2.7 billion VND to join Lam Dong province in organizing gift giving to soldiers working on islands and platforms and contributing to the Greening Truong Sa Program.

The gifts contain great sentiments and are a priceless source of spiritual encouragement for the soldiers and civilians living and working on the islands and DK1 Platform.

Those bricks of affection, those small gifts, those shared smiles... all have created a warm picture of the relationship between the army and the people in the remote islands of the Fatherland so that the image of Vietnam's floating and submerged islands can grow stronger and stand firm at the forefront of the wind and waves.

• ECHOES FROM THE HEART

During the trip, I had the opportunity to listen to the heartfelt sharing of the "soldiers" on the economic front. Mr. Huynh Quoc Dung - Representative of Sacom Tuyen Lam Joint Stock Company, emotionally shared: "The business trip to Truong Sa and DK1 Platform brought me extremely emotional experiences. Witnessing the lives and work of the soldiers at the forefront, I admire their determination and love for the Fatherland even more.

Sacom Tuyen Lam is a company operating in the tourism sector, our life is very different from that of navy soldiers. Therefore, I really want to contribute a small part to support and encourage the soldiers who are guarding the sovereignty of our homeland's sea and islands day and night. After this business trip, we will definitely spread the love for the sea and islands and take practical actions for the sea and islands and the rigs."

Through the trip, I felt many things that are extremely valuable and very emotional, such as pride in the heroic history of the Vietnam People's Navy, feeling and admiring the confidence, optimism and iron determination of the soldiers on the islands and DK1 platform".

Mr. Thai said that after returning from this business trip, he will tell and spread the spirit of living, fighting and contributing with the extremely noble ideals of the soldiers on the remote islands to everyone in the Company. He also pledged that, together with the Company, they will continue to devote their affection and more practical activities to the islands and soldiers working on the islands and platforms, contributing to the building of increasingly strong islands and platforms.

Many businesses participating in Working Group No. 18 have joined hands to contribute money and gifts to soldiers on duty on islands in Truong Sa archipelago and DK 1 Platform.

• NAVY STEADY HAND WITH GUN – ENTERPRISES STEADY ACCOMPANY

Not only contributing materially, recently, businesses everywhere both domestically and internationally have also organized many activities towards the sea and islands, such as promoting the sea and islands, contributing to raising public awareness of the position and role of the sea and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The participation of businesses in visits and encouragement trips to soldiers organized by the Navy and Naval Region 4 in recent years has spread beautiful and meaningful images of the sea and islands to a large number of people and thereby also aroused pride and recognized the responsibility of the business community for the cause of building and protecting Vietnam's sea and island sovereignty.

It is the silent sacrifice of the naval soldiers that has created a peaceful and stable environment, creating conditions for economic development and a prosperous and happy life for the people. The sea and islands are not only a sacred part of the territory, but also a priceless resource, a living space for the nation. Protecting the sea and islands means protecting the lives and peaceful environment for all of us.

During this working trip, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, Colonel Do Minh, in his speech, also expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions of the business community participating in the trip. He emphasized that the companionship of businesses is a great source of encouragement, helping soldiers to be more confident and determined to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Lanh, currently working at the Trade Union of the State Bank of Vietnam, cherishes the spiritual "gifts" that she and her friends made with all their hearts to send to the sea, to show gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Gac Ma naval battle.

• CRANES CARRYING DREAMS

And perhaps the most touching moment for me was when I witnessed three young women working in different units and businesses, together holding hundreds of white paper cranes and bringing them to Truong Sa. Among them, there were 64 cranes bearing the names, birth years and hometowns of the 64 soldiers who heroically sacrificed themselves at Gac Ma.

Next to those cranes was a handwritten letter, each line carefully written, placed solemnly next to the familiar checkered scarf and the red flag with yellow star, following a small motorboat out to the middle of the ocean, between the islands of Co Lin, Len Dao and Gac Ma.

Young people express their feelings and dreams of peace through the image of hundreds of paper cranes following the waves to the East Sea.

Each paper crane, each line of words on the letter of gratitude were carefully released by the three girls on the waves in the middle of the ocean. They not only conveyed their private feelings, but also carried the boundless gratitude of the children of Vietnam who have not had the opportunity to visit their homeland's sea and islands.

That image of three young girls working in the field of economics and business touched my heart and the hearts of those who witnessed that day. They came to the islands with sincere love and responsibility, bringing with them the most beautiful and practical actions.

The letter "to the outstanding children of the Fatherland" is full of emotion, love and respect, and was solemnly sent by young people on the waves to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of protecting the sea and islands.

Love for the sea and islands is an indispensable part of the soul of every patriotic Vietnamese. With the joint efforts of the whole society; including the increasingly widespread joint efforts of the business community, we hope to build a strong Vietnam, a green Truong Sa and an increasingly developed, peaceful and prosperous sea and island region.

In the vast ocean, the small paper cranes carry the dream and belief of a strong Vietnam, a green Truong Sa, a peaceful sea and islands. There, there are loyal navy soldiers guarding day and night, there are steadfast businesses accompanying, and there are millions of Vietnamese hearts always turned towards the homeland sea and islands.
