“Young human resources, technological human resources” are included in the talent development statements of many corporations in recent times. However, the reality shows that not many organizations in Vietnam devote their efforts and investments to specialized programs that prioritize this group of personnel.
According to discussions with the Corporate Relations Department of several major universities in the country, a typical brand that has had projects that resonate with students is the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB).
Over the past two years, MB has accompanied more than 100 large and small events for students. In the first six months of 2023 alone, MB has sponsored 15 programs at schools in all three regions.
Notably, the two most recent events that MB has accompanied as a major sponsor, including: HUB Career Fair at Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City and the 2023 Job Fair - Human Resource Bridge at Banking Academy, have attracted up to 12,000 students to attend.
The large numbers of students participating in these programs show that young people always want to rub shoulders with activities organized by schools with prestigious businesses.
The continuity and consistency of the events have demonstrated MB's commitment to the long-term desire to contribute to society in accompanying and developing young talents.
MB's digital transformation picture: The numbers "talk"
In recent times, MB has made its mark on the market with spectacular transformations in the digital banking sector. In 2022, MB surprised everyone by attracting more than 7 million new customers; accordingly, this bank has more than 20 million customers, or about 20% of Vietnam's population, with MB accounts. The proportion of transactions on digital channels reached 95%, equivalent to the top banks in Asia.
In addition, MB was honored at many prestigious domestic and international awards such as The Asset Triple A Awards 2023 (category "Best Digital Branch Project" - Best Automatic Digital Bank Branch Project and "Best Mobile Banking Application" - Best Banking Application), Vietnam Digital Awards 2022 (category "Outstanding Digital Transformation Products, Services, Solutions" and "Digital Transformation Products, Solutions for the Community"); or most recently this June, according to the announcement of Vietnam Report, MB was in the list of "Top 10 Prestigious and Effective Public Companies in 2023".
Bringing digital banking closer to Gen Z
Compared to previous generations, the “Gen Z” generation is being given the opportunity to be exposed to and understand more about the banking environment, especially Digital Banking, through Company tour programs or Talkshows at businesses and universities.
For MB in particular, the Talkshow series called “MB Let's Talk Talent” with “extremely hot” professional topics is where students can directly exchange and interact with MB experts. Many programs have made a strong impression such as: DevOps Roadmaps - from students to professional DevOps; BA career at MB; Wealth Management - Journey to become a Private Banker; Build up your LinkedIn & Light up Your Career; Banking career map, which choice is for you?...
MB representative said that the Bank is working with universities to continue conducting workshops on a number of areas such as Risk Management, Data, IFRS, DevSecOps, working according to the Agile method in 2023. This can be considered an approach to help students have the most realistic perspective on careers in a volatile recruitment market with high professional requirements.
In addition, since 2021, MB has been donating Digital experience spaces - MB Digital Hub with an investment of up to tens of billions of VND located on the campuses of leading academies and universities such as Hanoi National University, Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, Banking Academy and is continuing to promote implementation at many other campuses across the country.
These locations are being enthusiastically used by students for simulated banking experiences and “pitching ideas” for their projects.
Sharing in a talk show at the National Economics University, student Ngo Huy Anh said: “ I feel very lucky because out of more than 800 applications, I am one of 100 students selected to be present at NEU - MB Digital Hub today to attend the talk show “Road to Data Analyst – What shortcut for economists?” and listen to MB experts share extremely detailed knowledge and orientation, helping me to be more confident in my career choice.
I have just applied for a program at the Bank, I really hope I will be able to work at MB in the position I choose .
And not only stopping at domestic students, MB has also welcomed 160 students from the University of the Republic of Uruguay to survey and research. The international youth had the opportunity to learn about the banking system in Southeast Asia for the first time and were extremely impressed with MB's strong investment.
Through the program, the Bank has also gained interesting perspectives and promises to create new approaches to both services and recruitment events for young people in the future.
In the coming time, the bank will continue to launch projects dedicated to young people, helping students gain early access to the business environment and receive training using the “Learning on the job” method in some positions. Notable are two programs called MB Chasing and MB Young Talent.
MB Chasing is a career experience program in the retail banking sector for the first time in Vietnam, as the opening stage of the journey “Pursue the Banker Road” that MB has painstakingly designed for students to participate from the first year until becoming “MB Masters”. The project confidently attracts young candidates with special financial benefits, scholarships and certificates of achievement from MB.
As for MB Young Talent - this is a program to select talented young people with excellent academic results at universities, opening up opportunities for candidates without experience to start immediately with professional jobs in 6 career groups at the Bank.
MB Young Talent 2023 attracted nearly 3,000 applications, of which 60% were Good and Excellent graduates from leading universities in Economics and Technology. Through the first rounds of evaluation, the Bank selected 288 best candidates to participate in the Assessment Center activities taking place in June 2023.
With investment in professional and systematic programs, MB promises to continue to affirm its position as one of the most attractive recruitment brands in Vietnam for young and technology resources.
Sharing with the press, a representative of the Human Resources Department at the Bank affirmed that MB's programs always aim to provide young people with the opportunity to access the Digital Business environment right from their school days, thereby helping them receive appropriate encouragement and guidance to steadily develop on their career journey.
This is also the approach that helps MB fulfill its mission: "For the development of the country, for the benefit of customers" that the group always aims for.
