According to Decree 232/2025/ND-CP of the Government on the management of gold trading activities, from October 10, all businesses will have to make payments via bank transfer for gold trading transactions worth VND20 million or more in one day with a customer. Gold prices have increased sharply in recent times, many large transactions have occurred beyond control. Making payments via bank transfer is a measure to help the State tighten payment procedures, strengthen control of transactions in the gold market and cash flow to prevent money laundering, and help businesses operate more transparently and professionally.

Many people came to buy gold on the first day of applying the regulation of payment via bank for transactions of 20 million VND or more.

Surveying many gold trading establishments in Ha Tinh , most of the stores have grasped the regulations and strictly implemented them in gold trading transactions.

To ensure production and business activities, Mai Xuan Gold and Silver Joint Stock Company (Thanh Sen Ward, Ha Tinh) has focused on training employees to promptly guide customers to make transactions according to the correct procedures. Ms. Bui Dieu Huyen - Director of the company said: "Since the morning of October 10, we have completely applied the form of payment via bank for transactions of 20 million VND or more. However, many people have not grasped the information, so when they come to buy gold, they are quite confused, the store staff has to guide each person, so the transaction time is longer."

According to Ms. Huyen, this is a new regulation so it needs to be widely publicized so that people understand it correctly, avoiding misunderstandings or negative reactions. “When habits gradually form, this regulation will help make business operations transparent, reducing risks for both buyers and sellers,” she added.

According to the owner of Mai Xuan Gold and Silver shop, new regulations on gold trading need to be widely disseminated as well as have an adaptation process so that people can get used to them during transactions.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - owner of Viet Ha gold shop (Thanh Sen ward, Ha Tinh) said: "For young customers who are proficient in information technology, transferring money is not a big problem, but for older customers it is quite difficult, because they do not have a bank account." The implementation of this regulation is initially facing difficulties, but Ms. Ha admitted that the regulation also brings some clear benefits such as: no need to count money, limit the risk of using counterfeit money and keep transaction information. For customers who live far away, paying through the bank is also much safer than holding cash.

Customers successfully make a money transfer transaction,

Not only businesses, Ha Tinh people also started to get used to the new payment method. After applying, many customers realized the convenience of cashless payment.

After choosing a satisfactory bracelet, Ms. Phan Thi Hien (Cam Xuyen commune, Ha Tinh) had to struggle for a long time to successfully transfer the transaction: "I bought gold as a dowry for my child, and usually paid in cash for convenience. Now that I have to transfer money, I find it a bit difficult because I am not used to using banking applications, afraid of making mistakes in syntax or sending it to the wrong place. However, this is a regulation so I cannot avoid it."

The gold market in Ha Tinh has been bustling for more than a month now.

Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (Cam Trung commune, Ha Tinh city) shared: “At first, when I heard the staff announce that they only accept payments via bank transfer, I was quite upset, thinking that the store was making things difficult. When I got home to find out, I found out that this is a government regulation to manage gold transactions. I completely agree and will make payments via account in the next purchases.”

At many stores, the number of customers waiting to buy gold is quite large.

In fact, despite being familiar with banking applications, some customers still expressed concerns when the system crashed or transactions were slow. For the elderly or those with little exposure to technology, implementing the regulations still encountered some difficulties. For the new regulations to be stable, there needs to be better coordination between stores and banks.

Ms. Nguyen Ha Phuong (Tran Phu ward, Ha Tinh) said: “I fully support payment through banks. This method is safe, transparent, and helps both buyers and sellers avoid risks when holding a lot of cash. However, sometimes the system is congested, the money has been transferred but the seller has not received notification. I hope the bank will soon upgrade the transmission line and have quick confirmation between the two parties so that customers can feel secure.”

Some customers had problems with their bank transfer payments but the store owner handled it right away.

The new regulations are creating an important step in making gold trading transparent, while promoting the habit of cashless payments. Although initially there were many confusions, both businesses and people in Ha Tinh are gradually adapting to the regulations.

When technological infrastructure is improved and banking transactions are more stable, cashless payments will help the State manage effectively, bring practical benefits to people, and contribute to building modern, safe and civilized financial habits.
