'Unique' pot of golden dragon tree wrapped around grapefruit to play on Tet Nguyen Dan Giap Thin

NDO - With just over a month left until the Lunar New Year 2024, gardeners are currently taking care of unique dragon-shaped grapefruit pots ready to serve people's needs.

At some garden houses in Lien Nghia commune (Van Giang, Hung Yen ), garden owners have created giant flower pots with various shapes, which are being sold to serve customer needs on the occasion of the upcoming Tet Giap Thin 2024.

Mr. Nang, a gardener in Hung Yen, has crafted grapefruit pots out of cement in the shape of giant animals such as dragons, fish, buffaloes, horses, cars... and sold them for hundreds of millions of dong to serve customers during Tet this year.

"To create these works, since August 2023, I had to go and select grapefruit trees with beautiful shapes. Then I designed the pots to fit so that when the works were completed, they would be perfect like beautiful paintings," Mr. Nang shared.

To complete a small pot with few details, the craftsmen need about half a month, the largest pot takes about two and a half months to complete.

To attract customers during the Lunar New Year, the gardener has created a series of impressive dragon-shaped works in many different pot models with many meanings.

Another work called "Song long chau nguyet" is 5.6m long and is for sale for more than 200 million VND.

Not only focusing on the mascot of the year, artisans also create many other unique designs to serve the diverse needs of customers playing Tet.

To create these unique works, the craftsmen must be very meticulous, spend a lot of heart and effort, not to mention that if they are not satisfied, they are willing to destroy and redo them. Therefore, the price of these works is not cheap and is picky about the player, many pots cost up to tens, even hundreds of millions of dong.

Van Giang land (Hung Yen) has a long tradition of growing ornamental plants, many gardeners have been successful and famous, so I need to create different products to bring to the market. The work in the photo with the name "Time Mark" is built with a giant clock. The special thing is that this clock runs normally because the garden owner bought a separate clock mechanism to install inside.

A grapefruit pot was even made into the shape of a car by the gardener. These "unique" grapefruit pots attract many visitors to come and enjoy them during the days leading up to Lunar New Year.

Some customers have come to the garden and ordered works from the garden 2 months before Tet. Works about dragon mascots are of particular interest to Tet tree players this year.
