On the evening of July 8th, the final night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2023, themed " A World Without Borders," officially concluded. The first prize went to the Arteventia team from France.

At the final night, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, stated that with the theme "A World Without Borders," Da Nang City expresses a message of connection, bridging geographical distances, so that nations and peoples can draw closer together through aspirations for peace, love, and hope for a better future. After tonight, DIFF 2023 will conclude, but the city's dreams and aspirations will continue to be nurtured and spread.

As the first team to perform, Martarello Group from Italy once again affirmed their status as a veteran, having won the DIFF championship twice. Like their chosen piano piece, "River Flow In You ," the entire audience was immersed in the "flow" of the Han River, as giant fireworks exploded to the vibrant rock melody of " Gossip ," the EDM track " Wake Me Up" was reinterpreted with country influences, and of course, the classic, majestic Italian style was present in the theme song "The Good, the Evil, and the Righteous ."

Considered the highest-scoring team in the qualifying round, Arteventia from France captivated the audience with an emotionally charged fireworks display. Their theme, "A World Without Boundaries," was perfectly executed, delivering a spectacular fireworks show set to French, US-UK, and K-pop music. The audience swayed to the rhythms of BTS's "Dynamite " and Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love ," before immersing themselves in the sweet emotions of the remixed love song "La Vie En Rose" and "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien ."

The moment every audience member was waiting for was when the two teams used Vietnamese songs for their performances. Team Arteventia almost "exploded" the stage when they chose Thu Minh's song "Bay ," while Team Martarello Group moved the audience, who sang along in unison to Thuy Chi's "Vietnam in My Heart ."

To prepare for the grand finale, the stage, spanning over 1,000 square meters, was upgraded with two infinity LED screens and various effects such as lasers and water fountains, along with captivating performances.

Artistic performances on stage

Van Mai Huong's " Take Me To The Sun" brought a cheerful rhythm with lyrics that evoked images of sunshine and the sea. Thu Minh "set the stage on fire" with a mashup of "Living Like We're 20" and " Just Keep Going ." Particularly captivating was the musical performance of "A Whole New World" from the classic animated film Aladdin , performed by Van Mai Huong and Tien Dung. Hundreds of international dancers from the Ba Na Hills dance troupe showcased acrobatic stunts and roller skating performances, leaving the entire audience of over 7,000 seats amazed and astonished.

With performances that completely convinced both the audience and the judges, the Arteventia team from France won first place with a total prize of $20,000; the Martarello Group team from Italy won second place with a prize of $10,000.

The organizers presented the champion's trophy.

In addition, the Innovation Award went to the fireworks team from Poland, and the Audience Favorite Award went to the JoHo Pyro team from Finland.

DIFF 2023 contributed significantly to Da Nang's tourism recovery in the first quarter of 2023. In the first six months of the year, the total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments was estimated at over 3.5 million, an increase of 116.6% compared to the same period in 2022. Of these, international visitors accounted for 930,000, 11.3 times higher than the same period; domestic visitors totaled nearly 2.6 million, an increase of 67.7% compared to the same period.

During the festival, flights to Da Nang International Airport reached up to 150 flights per day at times, a 1.5-fold increase compared to normal days. Hotel occupancy rates in Da Nang reached approximately 70%, with 4-5 star hotels achieving 80-85%. This represents an increase compared to the 2019 DIFF, when occupancy rates across the city reached 65-70%, and 4-5 star hotels reached 75-85%.
