New Fifty Fifty lineup is highly rated

Recently, Attrakt released cover videos of girl group Fifty Fifty on YouTube, delivering soulful acoustic versions of Charlie Puth's "We Don't Talk Anymore" and Leejean's "Secondary Option."

Notably, this is the first time the new lineup of Fifty Fifty has harmonized. Apart from Keena, who is the only former member of Fifty Fifty, the group has undergone a major change with four new members - Chanelle, Yewon, Hana and Athena - announced on August 9.

The video posted by Attrakt showed off the members' vocal abilities and melodious voices and received positive responses from netizens.

On theqoo, this Korean audience expressed their expectations for the success of Fifty Fifty with new faces: "The group's name is already very famous and if they release good songs, they will definitely be successful", "All the vocals are great and harmonious", "I don't think Keena (known as a rapper) has such a good voice", "I wish they would re-record all the group's old songs"...

An audience member pointed out that letting the new Fifty Fifty lineup debut with a live performance video was a smart strategy by Attrakt. This helped the female idols prove their singing ability in a context where many girl groups are causing controversy over their live singing ability.

The appearance of some new members in the group also became a "hot" topic, for example, the sweet beauty of female idol Athena was commented to be similar to a member of group IVE.

The first generation of Fifty Fifty, including Keena, Aran, Saena, and Sio, debuted in November 2022. The group's single "Cupid" released in February 2023 set a series of impressive records, even breaking the record of the famous girl group Blackpink.

Fifty Fifty climbed to number 17 and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for 25 consecutive weeks, becoming the first K-pop girl group to do so.

But in June 2023, Fifty Fifty stopped working when 4 members suddenly filed a request to terminate the contract with the management company Attrakt, with reasons such as the company not properly caring about health, schedule, members not being paid since debut.

In August 2023, the Seoul Central District Court dismissed Fifty Fifty's lawsuit, as they had not provided sufficient reasons for canceling their contracts. The four idols then continued to appeal.

In October 2023, Keena suddenly withdrew the appeal, directly apologized to Attrakt CEO Jeon Hong Jung and asked to return.

Attrakt announced the termination of the exclusive contract with Sio, Aran, Saena, because the 3 members did not have any feedback, correction or remorse about the breach of contract.

In December 2023, Attrakt filed a lawsuit seeking 13 billion won in damages against the three members and their parents. The first hearing was scheduled for August 29.

The second generation group Fifty Fifty will return with a new mini album on September 20.
