MU's attack is worth waiting for next season. |
After an impressive 2024/25 season with 20 goals in the Premier League, Mbeumo became MU's second signing this summer. Previously, the "Red Devils" spent 62.5 million pounds to recruit Matheus Cunha from Wolves, a striker who scored 17 goals last season.
In coach Ruben Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation, Cunha is expected to take the "number 10" position on the left, while Mbeumo plays on the right. With their flexibility in movement and good ability to seize opportunities, both Mbeumo and Cunha will become a threat to any defense.
During his time at Brentford, Mbeumo played primarily as a winger, standing out for his ability to dribble and cut inside, then finish with his left foot.

MU fans have high hopes for Mbeumo. |
Amad Diallo, who also had impressive performances last season, could also play in a similar position to Mbeumo. The competition between Amad and Mbeumo will create a fierce battle for the right-sided 'number 10' position. Amad can also play as a right-back.
After the two "number 10" positions are settled, the starting striker position will be a competition between Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund. Both need to work hard after a disappointing 2024/25 season.
In midfield, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro, Toby Collyer and Bruno Fernandes will share the two central positions. Coach Amorim is likely to rely on the duo of Bruno and Ugarte to balance defense and organization. When entering the cup competitions, Mainoo, Collyer and Casemiro will be rotated.

On the wings, Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu are bright faces. However, both will also face competition from Amad or 17-year-old rookie Diego Leon.
In defence, MU have many options for the three central defender positions. Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven are considered the future of the defence, while Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire will compete in the centre.
The group of Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui all have versatility in playing style and good ability to launch attacks. This trio will help coach Amorim have more ideas to organize the game from the defense.
Andre Onana, currently suffering from a hamstring injury, is likely to remain United's number one goalkeeper next season. However, the club are looking for a back-up goalkeeper who can compete with Onana.
