Goodbye to the past
A few hours before the ceremony to announce the Central Committee's resolutions and decisions on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units of An Giang province took place, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang sent a letter of greeting to cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, workers and all the people of An Giang, where he worked for more than 4 years (May 2021 to June 2025).
Those are the sentiments of a leader who "dedicates all his enthusiasm and heart to the wish that his homeland An Giang will develop more and more, and that the people will have a prosperous and happy life". During the difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the great tasks, and the concerns for the people's lives... were carried out by him and his province. An Giang changes every day, with a series of landmark projects (Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, completion of the National Highway 91 connection route, Long Xuyen bypass and Chau Doc bridge...), the Ba Chua Xu Festival on Sam mountain was recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; the province completed ahead of schedule the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses... All of these mark the leadership and management process of the Provincial Party Secretary.
“When we are here, it is just a place to live, when we leave, the land becomes our soul”. For me, the time of more than 4 years serving the Party Committee, the government and the people of An Giang is not long compared to a human life, but it is enough for me to feel, understand, attach and carry in my memory. Farewell An Giang. I would like to send my farewell with the best wishes to all comrades, colleagues, cadres, party members and the people of An Giang. Difficult times meet, then also part / An Giang leaves our footprints / Bright path, steadfast, heart sun moon / Keep the whole love, never fade away" - Comrade Le Hong Quang expressed.
Many farewells were written on social networks and shared at the last meeting of the old unit. My colleague, journalist Nguyen Thi Kim Thao, was one of the cases of retirement according to Decree 178/2024/ND-CP, in the spirit of restructuring the unit's organizational structure. She left a farewell message before cleaning up her desk: "End of the 38-year journey, let's go home. Start a new chapter in life. I wish my remaining colleagues to always be steadfast, have faith, reach far and high, always be safe and lucky in work and in life, and soon adapt to the new environment in the new period!"

Hello future
Attending the ceremony to announce the establishment of An Giang province, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh said: “The policy of restructuring the apparatus and merging administrative units is a necessary and correct action, with a long-term strategic nature. We understand that this process can have a certain impact on the thoughts, aspirations and working positions of a number of cadres, civil servants and public employees. Change is not easy, but at this time, the exemplary spirit and sacrifice for the collective and common interests of comrades are more clearly demonstrated than ever.”
Therefore, after saying goodbye, everyone pulled themselves together and started working on new tasks with new enthusiasm. Secretary of the My Thoi Ward Party Committee Tran Minh Duc shared: “Every change, from administrative boundaries, names, to job position adjustments… can give rise to anxiety and confusion. But in challenging times like these, the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and love for the homeland will be the strength and solid foundation for us to join hands to build a new ward that is strong, civilized, and modern.”
The new ward leader sent the message “Join hands to create - Steadily reach far” to all cadres, civil servants, public employees and people of the ward. In it, he called on everyone to become “innovation ambassadors”, proactively approach and learn official information about new policies; support relatives and neighbors to update necessary records and documents; and frankly give suggestions to build a government that is close to the people, understands the people and serves them better.
Having just taken on the task of Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee after the merger, comrade Nguyen Tien Hai informed that on July 1, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee met to give opinions on the Working Regulations of the Provincial Party Committee to submit to the Provincial Party Committee for decision; assigning tasks to members of the Standing Committee and members of the Provincial Party Committee. At the same time, directing Party committees, agencies and units to issue working regulations and related regulations; assigning clear and specific tasks to each cadre, civil servant and public employee. At the same time, proposing practical programs and resolutions to effectively implement targets and tasks in the last 6 months of 2025 to achieve the goals assigned by the Central Government.
“An Giang urgently operates the Public Administration Service Center of the province and communes, wards, and special zones in the direction of strong administrative reform, continuous, smooth, and effective operation; in which, fully updating new processes and procedures; being transparent and applying information technology to better serve organizations and individuals, especially handling records through the National Public Service Portal. Building a team of officials at all levels to ensure ethics, qualifications, capacity, sense of responsibility, and dedication to work, especially in maintaining and building the image and style of officials and civil servants "from serving the administration to serving the people" in the spirit of the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister" - Comrade Nguyen Tien Hai affirmed.
