Bringing political theory closer to learners through digital technology
Reporting at the meeting, Secretary of the Party Committee, Principal of Phenikaa University, Professor, Dr. Pham Thanh Huy said: The implementation of Conclusion No. 94-KL/TW has brought about clear results in the field of education, especially in the study of political theory at the school. This is an important basis contributing to building and promoting the spirit of national pride, consolidating absolute trust in the leadership of the Party, and equipping students with a solid foundation of political and ideological knowledge. At the same time, it creates conditions for the teaching staff to promote their qualities and revolutionary ethics, innovate teaching methods, improve the quality and effectiveness of political theory work, and make practical contributions to the socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of the locality and the country.

The Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the school have been proactive and serious in propagating, thoroughly understanding and organizing the implementation of Conclusion 94-KL/TW to all cadres, party members and lecturers, creating a high level of unity in the awareness of the role and significance of studying political theory. Thereby, deepening the fundamental and leading role of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought and the Party's guidelines and viewpoints in current social life.
Reporting on the innovation of teaching methods for political theory courses at the school, Vice Principal of Phenikaa University, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van Hieu said: In recent times, the innovation of teaching methods has had clear changes in the direction of being lively, flexible, and close to reality, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning. The organization of political theory teaching is carried out flexibly, in accordance with actual conditions, linking theory with practice.
Annually, the school conducts activities to review learning materials to serve the modules in the training program. On that basis, the specialized department managing the modules deployed in the unit conducts a review of teaching materials and textbooks as a basis for proposing to the school on selection and addition to the library for use in teaching and learning, meeting the requirements of updating.

In addition, before each school year, specialized departments are allowed to propose adjustments and updates to the detailed course outline to ensure professional requirements, teaching content and course assessment methods. From the 2022-2023 school year, Phenikaa University will begin to develop digital courses to organize teaching in a combined E-learning format.
The contents of the digital course are built on the basis of the detailed course outline that has been developed by the professional unit according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The content of the digital course is evaluated and approved before being put into use. Up to now, all 5 courses of political theory knowledge have been organized for training in the form of combined E-learning.
Linking political theory with practice
At the working session at Phenikaa University, comrade Doan Van Bau acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that teachers and students of Phenikaa University have achieved in the process of implementing Conclusion No. 94-KL/TW of the Secretariat. The results achieved not only demonstrate the seriousness and creativity in the approach and implementation, but also reflect the sense of responsibility, enthusiasm and aspiration for innovation in political theory education. It is a harmonious combination of innovation in content and teaching methods with the integration of theory into practice, helping students not only acquire knowledge effectively but also form correct political attitudes and thinking, suitable to the requirements of the new period.

Comrade Doan Van Bau congratulated the achievements in the process of innovating the content and methods of teaching political theory, the result of the continuous efforts of teachers. In particular, the leading role of the school's Party Committee, together with the enthusiastic support of young students, has not only created a positive source of inspiration but also become a practical requirement, promoting the innovation process to take place more strongly, deeply and effectively in the coming time.
However, in addition to the advantages, comrade Doan Van Bau frankly pointed out the limitations that still exist in the process of implementing political theory learning. One of the major barriers is the mentality that theory is heavy, rigid, and far from reality. However, as Conclusion No. 94-KL/TW emphasized, the important task is to make theory a self-need, so that students do not only study because of mandatory requirements but actually feel that theory is necessary, close, and connected to life, study, and future work.
To do that, it is necessary to strongly innovate both content and teaching methods, arouse interest in learning by integrating vivid practice, bringing into lectures evidence from social life, culture, and national history; exploiting rich and updated sources of documents; using modern teaching methods, focusing on learners. Most importantly, the role of the teacher - the person who not only imparts knowledge but also has to ignite, inspire, help students understand and love political theory as an indispensable part of comprehensive development.
Comrade Doan Van Bau hopes that in the coming time, the school will continue to promote innovation in teaching content and methods, update knowledge from practice as quickly as possible, especially synthesizing and effectively integrating speeches and guiding views of leaders in the past into lectures. With the spirit of initiative, creativity, efficiency and putting training goals first, we believe that the team of teachers will contribute to building the school into a prestigious and quality center for political theory training.
Learner-centered teaching innovation

Despite many difficulties, the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology still demonstrates a spirit of determination to innovate and create. Regarding teaching content, instead of mechanically applying the framework program, the Academy has made flexible and creative adjustments to suit the learners. The allocation of the political theory curriculum is implemented across semesters, helping students access knowledge in a reasonable way, avoiding overload.
Teaching methods have also been innovated in a learner-centered direction, emphasizing the role of students as the ones who directly benefit from the learning content. At the same time, the school focuses on promoting the role of teachers, actively applying technology, integrating modern knowledge into the teaching process. According to comrade Doan Van Bau, the spirit of innovation, creativity, and breakthroughs in science and technology is necessary, because education cannot be slow or fall behind in the current context of digital transformation.
Comrade Doan Van Bau emphasized that it is necessary to recognize and clearly evaluate the existing limitations. Although the curriculum has been innovated, the “breath of practice” still needs to be supplemented. Practice can come from many rich sources of documents, for example, important speeches of the General Secretary, which are documents with profound theoretical values, linked to the practical development of the country, not dogmatic or rigid. These are “living” documents, clearly demonstrating theoretical developments, recognized and highly appreciated by the international community, and are also something for us to be proud of.
However, no matter which approach is taken, the ultimate focus is still on the teacher. Strengthening training and updating knowledge for the teaching staff needs to be further promoted, through many forms such as field trips to localities, visiting historical sites, organizing exchange programs, professional exchanges, and periodic training and coaching.
In recent times, practice has also provided rich materials to make lectures more vivid and practical. In particular, lecturers need to update newly issued important documents such as the policy of rapid transformation of awareness in organizational arrangement or Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. These are necessary contents to be included in teaching political theory in the current period.
"I hope that every political theory lecturer is not only a person who imparts knowledge, but also a person who "ignites" the fire for students, arousing in them pride, love for their homeland, country, history, and national culture. Let's bring the whole cultural spirit into teaching, from lyrics, songs, folk songs, and proverbs, so that each theory lesson is not only about receiving theory, but also an emotional journey, imbued with national values, helping students see the close connection between theory and life, between great ideas and daily cultural values", comrade Doan Van Bau emphasized.
