Which team received the most prize money in the FIFA Club World Cup group stage?

The FIFA Club World Cup, expanded to 32 teams for the first time, also became the summer tournament with the highest prize money in football.

Many big clubs initially expressed their dissatisfaction with FIFA's continued increase in the number of matches played in a year. But with the FIFA Club World Cup, they were all "silenced" by the huge prize money.

According to FIFA's prize distribution mechanism, the total budget of up to 1 billion USD is divided into three parts: participation fee - 525 million USD, performance-based bonus - 475 million USD and global support - 250 million USD, distributed to non-participating clubs.

In the group stage alone, each win is awarded $2 million, a draw is $1 million. The team that makes it to the round of 16 gets an additional $7.5 million.

Manchester City are currently the biggest winners, having won all three group stage matches, earning $6 million in match bonuses, plus $7.5 million for reaching the round of 16. Combined with the highest entry fee (for the best teams in Europe) of around $38.5 million, Man City have now received $52 million in prize money.

Real Madrid also advanced, but only won 2 matches and drew 1, so they received 5 million USD from the group stage. Real Madrid currently receives 51 million USD, ranking second.

Bayern Munich ranked right behind with a total of about 46.4 million USD, followed by PSG (44 million USD), Chelsea (41 million USD), Dortmund (40 million USD), Inter Milan (38 million USD)...

The surprise package is the Brazilian clubs. Despite receiving just $15.21 million in entry fees, they performed well in the group stage and all qualified for the next round. Flamengo, Palmeiras, Botafogo and Fluminense each currently earn between $26 and $29 million, placing them just behind the European teams.

Meanwhile, teams from Asia, Africa and North America that did not advance or win a match also received $9.55 million in entry fees. Seven teams received this amount, including Tunis, Los Angeles, Ulsan, Urawa, Pachuca, Seattle and Wydad.

Finally, amateur team Auckland City - with a historic $4.85 million bonus. The majority of the team are amateurs, so this is a dream bonus for them.
