As the only village of Sop Cop commune, Sop Cop district, where 100% of the Mong people live, in recent years, with the support and investment of the state, the people of Huoi Ai village have united and made efforts to develop production, reduce poverty, and the rural appearance of the village has changed more and more.

In December 2022, Co Hinh and Pa Hoc villages merged and took the name Huoi Ai. The village has 71 households and more than 320 people. Mr. Vu Ba Khu, Party Cell Secretary and Village Chief, said: The Party Cell and Village Management Board have propagated and mobilized people to change the structure of crops and livestock; put high - value seedlings and breeds into production. The village has national grid electricity, intra-village and inter-village roads are concreted, and the school is spaciously built. In addition, the village's mass organizations have received nearly 1 billion VND from the district's Social Policy Bank to lend to 25 households to develop production.
Currently, households in the village grow 2 hectares of plum and peach trees; 31 hectares of grain crops, with an output of over 180 tons/year; 80 hectares of high-yield cassava, with an output of nearly 800 tons/year; and protect over 300 hectares of natural forests. Every year, people receive over 100 million VND in forest environmental services. In livestock farming, the whole village has over 200 cattle, and people pay attention to vaccinating and disinfecting the barn area 4 times/year; building solid, cold-resistant barns; planting over 2 hectares of elephant grass, and fermenting it to make feed for cattle in the winter months. In addition, they also raise over 200 local pigs and over 1,000 poultry... With economic development, over 30% of households in the village have a good standard of living; many households have an income of 150-200 million VND/year. From 2021 to present, each year 3-5 households escape poverty.
Since 2020, Mr. Vang A Po's family has planted 2 hectares of high-yield cassava; raised 12 breeding buffaloes and cows, and 30 local pigs. Mr. Po shared: Every year, the family sells 6-8 buffaloes and cows, 50-60 breeding pigs and meat, with a total income of more than 200 million VND. In 2021, my family escaped poverty, and life has gradually improved.
Vu A Ha's family grows nearly 6 hectares of high-yield cassava, raises 3 buffaloes and cows; raises chickens and ducks for meat... Ha said: Previously, my family mainly grew corn, due to long-term cultivation, the soil was infertile, and the yield was low. In 2021, the family switched to growing high-yield cassava, and in the first crop, nearly 60 tons of fresh tubers were harvested, purchased by traders at the field, earning more than 130 million VND. Thanks to growing high-yield cassava, the family's life has become more stable, with conditions to buy supplies for life and production.
In addition, people actively responded to the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life". Weddings have the cultural identity of the Mong ethnic group, but are civilized, economical, and suitable for the economic conditions of each family; funerals are organized compactly and inexpensively. The village has established 3 inter-family self-governing groups for security and order, and 1 effective mediation team. 100% of households have access to electricity, clean water, and can watch television. Classes are located in the village from kindergarten to primary school; the village cultural house is solidly built; there is a sports field for people to practice daily.
Huoi Ai is undergoing many changes. The people in the village always believe in the leadership of the Party, unite, agree, and join hands to build an increasingly prosperous life.
