This is also the first international friendly match of the Vietnam futsal team since regrouping in early May to prepare for the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship Qualifiers.
With the main purpose of evaluating personnel and testing the playing style, Head Coach Giustozzi Diego Raul gave the rookies and young faces a chance to play. Although not using the strongest lineup, the Vietnamese futsal team still showed the strength of the team 15 places higher than the opponent on the World Rankings when creating an overwhelming situation right from the beginning of the match.
However, it was not until the 16th minute that coach Giustozzi Diego Raul's players were able to break the deadlock. Chau Doan Phat's low shot hit the post and into the net to open the scoring for the Vietnamese futsal team.

In the second half, the Vietnamese futsal team continued to maintain their pressure. In the 32nd minute, Tran Duy raised the score to 2-0 with a tricky shot from outside the penalty area into the far corner, and then a few minutes later, Thinh Phat scored with a goal to widen the gap to 3 goals.
In the final minutes of the match, taking advantage of the other team's impatience to find an equalizer, the Vietnamese futsal team scored two more goals, by Duong Ngoc Linh with a shot into the far corner and goalkeeper Huu Phuc with a situation that seized the opportunity from the other team's mistake in the power-play tactic, sealing a 5-0 victory for the Vietnamese futsal team.
At 5:00 p.m. tomorrow (May 26), the two teams will have a return friendly match, also at Thai Son Nam Stadium.
