In the coming time, the Party Committee, the government, and the people of Bac Hong ward, Hong Linh town ( Ha Tinh province) will continue to promote the value of the historical site to commemorate the contributions of King Ly Nhat Quang.
On the morning of January 26th, the People's Committee of Bac Hong Ward (Hong Linh Town) solemnly held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level historical and cultural relic ranking certificate for Binh Lang Temple.
Binh Lang Temple is an ancient historical and cultural relic, dating back a long time and possessing significant cultural and revolutionary traditional value. The temple is dedicated to Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang (995 - 1057) - the eighth son of King Ly Thai To, a historical figure who made many contributions to the Hoan Chau region in particular (present-day Nghe An and Ha Tinh ) and the whole country in general. He was a quick-witted, accomplished in both literature and martial arts, intelligent and virtuous.
Binh Lang Temple in Hamlet 5, Bac Hong Ward, is dedicated to Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang.
In 1039, he was appointed by his older brother, King Ly Thai Tong, to Nghe An province to collect taxes. In 1041, he was appointed Governor of Nghe An - with the title of Uy Minh Hou, and later elevated to the rank of prince.
Leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the provincial-level historical and cultural relic certificate to the locality.
In recognition of the great contributions of Uy Minh Vương Lý Nhật Quang, since the 18th century, the people of the region have erected the Bình Lãng temple to worship him.
The people of Bac Hong ward carried the provincial-level historical and cultural relic certificate into Binh Lang Temple.
Every year, on the 16th and 17th of the twelfth lunar month, the people of the region hold a memorial ceremony for Uy Minh Vương Lý Nhật Quang at Bình Lãng Temple.
In 2009, local people generously contributed to the restoration and reconstruction of the temple, rebuilding it with two main halls (central and upper) in the ancient architectural style using ironwood.
The elders organized the consecration ceremony of the provincial-level historical and cultural relic and the memorial ceremony for Uy Minh Vương Lý Nhật Quang at Bình Lãng Temple.
In recognition of the contributions of Uy Minh Vuong Ly Nhat Quang and the historical and cultural values of the temple, on November 1, 2023, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued Decision No. 2819/QD-UBND classifying Binh Lang Temple as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic.
