Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of the Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Duc Co district; representatives of the armed forces and Ozadao Border Gate, Kingdom of Cambodia; leaders of the Le Thanh International Border Gate Border Guard Station through the periods and local people in the area where the unit is stationed.
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 50-year journey of building, fighting and growing up of the Le Thanh International Border Post. Accordingly, the Le Thanh International Border Post was established on June 15, 1975 with the original name of the Ia Kla People's Armed Police Station. Established in the early days of national reunification, the unit had to directly face difficulties and challenges, both building forces and carrying out the task of protecting the border that had not yet been demarcated, marked, and protected the area after liberation.
Overcoming countless hardships and sacrifices, the officers and soldiers of the Le Thanh International Border Post have grown more mature as they fought; constantly maintaining and promoting the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", patriotism, love for socialism, the spirit of revolutionary attack, brave and resilient fighting, contributing to beautifying the glorious tradition of the Army and the Border Guard force. In each period of the country's history, the unit has always proactively coordinated closely with other forces to effectively handle situations, firmly protect territorial sovereignty, national border security, maintain political security, social order and safety on the border line assigned to manage.
In particular, the unit has strengthened the building of a clean and strong Party organization, built a comprehensively strong "Exemplary" unit, improved overall quality, level, combat readiness; focused on building a "people's border defense", building a solid "people's heart position" in the stationed area; contributed significantly to building a stable, peaceful , friendly and developed border area. With a long history and outstanding achievements, Le Thanh International Border Post was honored to be awarded the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" by the Party and State; Second and Third Class Military Exploit Medal; 17 times awarded the title of Determined to Win Unit and many other noble awards.
Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Ro Mah Tuan - Political Commissar of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command emphasized: During the 50-year journey of building, fighting and growing up with many hardships and dangers, from the border war period, the years of opening trade, to the period of integration and development, the officers and soldiers of the Le Thanh International Border Guard Station have always upheld the sense of responsibility and excellently completed the assigned tasks. "In the context of the new situation, the officers and soldiers of the Le Thanh International Border Guard Station continue to uphold the tradition of the heroic unit, constantly study, train, build a strong unit in politics, ideology and organization; successfully carry out the assigned political tasks, worthy of being the core, specialized force in managing and firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the national border" the Political Commissar of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command expressed his confidence.
