The large-scale lacquer painting "Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence" measures 2.4 m x 7.2 m, weighs 3 tons, and is completed on a double-sided lacquer panel. The first side depicts the entire scene of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945.

The second side is called "National Spring", symbolizing the joy of the whole nation on the bridge connecting the past, present and future when the country enters the Spring of Independence - Freedom - Happiness.
Lacquer is a traditional art form that requires great elaboration and technique. In particular, to create a particularly large-sized unassembled lacquer painting measuring 2.4 m x 7.2 m is the result of 7 years of serious and persistent artistic work by the artist.
The author of the work is young artist Chu Nhat Quang. Since the beginning of his creative journey, he has tried and succeeded in creating large-scale lacquer paintings weighing up to tons. This is a journey full of hardships and difficulties.

To create exceptionally large-sized paintings that can withstand harsh outdoor environmental changes, with the sole purpose of bringing President Ho Chi Minh's image closer to the masses, so that everyone can admire the great image of Uncle Ho - Painter Chu Nhat Quang accepted to go through dozens of failures... And then with persistent labor, not afraid to overcome all challenges - and this record-breaking painting is the clearest proof of daring to think, daring to do, daring to overcome all limits to affirm Vietnamese identity.
The reproduction of the image of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence - the most sacred moment in the nation's history using traditional lacquer material and setting a Guinness record once again affirms the connection between history, culture and creativity of the Vietnamese people.
This is the first time a Vietnamese lacquer work has been recognized by Guinness World Records, and also the first time Guinness World Records has set a record for lacquer painting.
