Religious people in Lam Dong happily hang the national flag

100% of religious establishments and private homes of people, including followers of different religions in Dak Song commune (Lam Dong), are resplendent with red flags with yellow stars fluttering in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

It has become a custom that on holidays, Tet, and important events of the country and the locality, Mr. Y Hoang, a Protestant Association of Bon Rlong, Dak Song commune, Lam Dong province, carefully washes, dries, and hangs the red flag with a yellow star in the most solemn place in the house. Every time he hangs the red flag with a yellow star, indescribable emotions arise in him. That is the spirit of an exemplary citizen, living responsibly towards the Fatherland.

Mr. Y Hoang said that not only his family, but also the people in the Protestant Association always respect God, love their country, and vow to live a “good life and a good religion”. They all have the consciousness to protect the Fatherland, national pride associated with the passionate patriotism that has been nurtured through many generations.

“When I hang the national flag, I feel an indescribable joy and pride. The bright red flag also brightens the village streets and alleys, making the atmosphere more joyful and bustling!..”, Mr. Y Hoang shared.

On the occasion of this special event of the country, parishioners in Tan Bui Parish, Xuan Ky Parish and religious establishments in Dak Song Commune, Lam Dong Province also simultaneously hung the national flag at religious establishments, private homes and on main roads. The flag is a sacred symbol of the Fatherland, expressing patriotism, solidarity and the aspiration for independence and freedom of the entire nation.

Mr. Vu Van Dung, the parish priest of Xuan Ky Parish, Dak Song Commune, said: “Hanging the national flag is a regular, voluntary and self-conscious activity of the people in the parish during holidays and Tet. That is what we always call on and encourage parishioners to do. This is also a form of expressing the responsibility and duty of a citizen towards the Fatherland!..”.

Dak Song commune currently has 3 main religions (Catholicism, Buddhism and Protestantism). With the attention of the Party, the State, and authorities at all levels, the lives of local people have improved a lot. Religious activities are always given attention, ensuring compliance with State regulations. Parishioners are always conscious of "living a good life, following their religion", actively participating in patriotic emulation movements, the movement of the whole people protecting national security, building cultural life in residential areas, and preserving the great national unity bloc. Parishioners have also made great contributions to the construction of new rural areas, contributing to ensuring security and order, effectively serving the tasks of socio -economic development, security and national defense of the locality.
