On August 1, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the flooding situation in Phieng Nghe village, Bom Nam residential area, Nam Giang village and Nam Nieu village, Chieng Den commune, Son La city.

Due to the impact of storm No. 2, landslides and flooding occurred in Chieng Den commune. Currently, about 50 households in Phieng Nghe, Nam Nieu villages and Bom Nam residential area, Nam Giang village are still deeply submerged in water. Immediately after the flood, Chieng Den commune mobilized "4 on-site" forces to move assets to help people; the Military Command and the City Police increased forces to support households to continue moving assets and overcome the consequences of local floods. Currently, households affected by flooding and landslides have been arranged temporary accommodation at relatives' houses and cultural houses in neighboring villages.

After checking the actual situation, comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh requested the City People's Committee to immediately check the drainage caster caves, dredge and install trash screens after the water recedes; study the feasibility of the plan to build a drainage tunnel, ensuring effective flood drainage and flood prevention. At the same time, immediately implement measures to prevent and control epidemics, environmental sanitation, and health care for people; ensure adequate supply of necessities for affected households, helping to stabilize their lives after the natural disaster. Particularly for the flooded residential areas of Bom Nam, Nam Giang village, implement the plan to relocate residents, support households to build new house foundations to ensure safety and prevent flooding. Continue to closely monitor the weather situation, prepare the "4 on-site" plan to promptly evacuate people and property from areas at risk of flooding and landslides.
