On October 1, Mr. Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the flood situation in Chiem Hoa commune. He was accompanied by leaders of the Provincial Military Command and the Department of Agriculture and Environment.

According to the report, as of 8:00 p.m. on September 30, Chiem Hoa commune had 1,791 households/31 villages isolated, 571 households/26 villages were moving to avoid the risk of landslides and floodwaters entering their houses, 2 households had their houses eroded. Damage to rice fields was 112.8 hectares, annual crop areas were more than 80 hectares, perennial crops were 3.9 hectares, aquaculture was 11.05 hectares, and 6 aquaculture cages were 6. Total damage was over 3.6 billion VND.

Chiem Hoa commune authorities help people move to avoid floods.

The Commune People's Committee used reserve funds to buy 500 cartons of instant noodles and 165 cartons of water; cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, militia, Party cell secretaries, village chiefs and other forces, along with the people, participated in responding and supporting rescue and relief efforts for about 400 people.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed relevant departments and branches to urgently support the commune to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, not to let people go hungry or lack clean water; at the same time, review the damage to have timely support plans, soon stabilize life and production.
