Promoting gender equality through practical models and activities

Promoting gender equality is the key to building a fair, civilized and sustainable society. This is also the goal throughout many policies and strategies, especially specified in Project 8. In recent times, with many practical and creative models, the Women's Union at all levels has contributed to changing awareness, enhancing the role and position of women, while encouraging men to join in building happy families and progressive communities.

Some typical models and activities that directly promote gender equality include:

The Women's Union's honorary membership admission activities for men are carried out with the following criteria: being a prestigious and influential person, having made positive contributions to the women's movement and association activities; agreeing with the association's charter, voluntarily participating and being recognized as an honorary member by the competent authority...

Honorary members of Cam 1 village actively participate in activities of the women's association.

Honorary members of Nhai Ten village 2 actively participate in propaganda work. This activity aims to promote the participation of men in the activities of the association. Thereby contributing to the excitement of the association's activities as well as promoting gender equality, for the advancement of women in the village.

The "Building a home together" model of Cam Duong Ward Women's Union attracted more than 40 couples to participate with the goal of propagating the State's policies and laws on marriage and family; sharing experiences in maintaining family harmony and taking care of good children.

"Change Leaders Club" - This is a club for middle school students in ethnic minority areas under Project 8. By joining the Club, members will be able to share many life skills and raise awareness of issues and backward customs around themselves.
