On the morning of July 22, comrade Pham Thanh Kien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, led a delegation to visit and present gifts to outstanding policy families in Binh Thoi, Hoa Binh , Phu Tho and Minh Phung wards, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).

The delegation visited Mr. Nguyen Hung Tanh, a 4/4 war invalid, a resistance activist infected with toxic chemicals, a 55-year Party member; Mr. Tran Minh Phung, a 4/4 war invalid, a 62-year Party member, former Colonel of Division 9 - a 4/4 war invalid; Mr. Dang Hung (aka Dang Dieu Quang), a 4/4 war invalid, former Ward Secretary, security officer after 1975 and Mr. Nguyen Van Luong, a 1/4 war invalid, a retired cadre, who worked for many years in the Department of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs, a 65-year Party member.

At each family, comrade Pham Thanh Kien and the members of the delegation kindly asked about the health and life of the individuals who contributed to the revolution - those who devoted their youth, blood, intelligence and their entire career to national independence and national reunification.
Despite their old age, poor health, and different living conditions, these individuals all demonstrate an optimistic spirit, strong will, and exemplary compliance with the Party and State’s policies and guidelines, actively contribute to the community, and preserve the revolutionary tradition in their families. Many of them have children and grandchildren holding important positions in state agencies, continuing the tradition of serving the Fatherland.

Sharing at the meetings, comrade Pham Thanh Kien emphasized: “The City Party Committee, People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City always remember the great contributions of heroic martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution. Each gift is a sincere gratitude, responsibility and affection of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City towards those who have contributed and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation”.

Organizing delegations of city leaders to visit, encourage and give gifts to typical policy families not only shows the regular and close attention of the Party Committee and government but is also a practical activity to spread the tradition of "remembering the source of water", fostering patriotism, national morality and sense of responsibility in the whole society.
