Simultaneously, over 80 key construction projects and initiatives were launched or inaugurated.

This morning, more than 80 key projects and constructions across all three regions of Vietnam (North, Central, and South) will simultaneously commence or be inaugurated. The total investment capital is nearly 450,000 billion VND.

The Ministry of Construction announced that, following the Prime Minister's directive, on the morning of April 19th, important construction projects will simultaneously hold groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies in all three regions of Vietnam: North, Central, and South. Currently, 85 projects from various ministries, sectors, and localities have registered to commence or inaugurate on April 19th.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, on the morning of April 19th, the Ministry of Construction, in coordination with the provinces and cities of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Khanh Hoa, and Tien Giang, organized the technical opening ceremony for four component projects of the North-South Expressway Eastern section (2021-2025), including the sections: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi; Ham Nghi - Vung Ang; Bung - Van Ninh; Van Phong - Nha Trang, and the ceremony for the completion of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge, via online connection with locations in the provinces and cities where the project passes through.

The main venue was located at Terminal 3 of Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City).

The connection points to the main bridge in Ho Chi Minh City include: the bridge at the intersection of National Highway 8A (Km479+300) in Thanh Binh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh province; the bridge at the Viet Trung intersection (Km643+400) in Viet Trung Agricultural Farm town, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province; the bridge at the intersection of National Highway 26 (Km332+100) in Ninh Xuan commune, Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province; and the bridge at Rach Mieu 2 bridge in Binh Duc commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province.

According to the Ministry of Construction, the four aforementioned component projects of the North-South Expressway, opened to traffic and put into operation on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, will contribute to overcoming traffic congestion and reducing traffic accidents, easing traffic pressure on National Highway 1A, shortening travel time, improving operational safety, creating favorable conditions for traffic flow from Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Yen province; from Hanoi to Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces; maximizing investment efficiency, meeting the needs of travel, transportation, tourism, cultural and social exchange, thereby contributing to promoting economic development and stimulating tourism potential in the provinces of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and the provinces of North Central and South Central Vietnam.

Officially launched on April 28, 2025

According to the Ministry of Construction, vehicles will officially be allowed to travel on these four sections of the expressway from April 28, 2025.

For the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway, vehicles are permitted to travel from the beginning of the project at Km479+117 to the end of the project at Km514+441 in the North-South direction and vice versa, including 3 interchanges (the interchange with National Highway 8A, Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district connecting to Cau Treo border gate, Hong Linh town; the interchange with Provincial Road 548, Trung Loc commune, Can Loc district connecting to Nghen town, Dong Lo Crossroads historical site, National Highway 1A; and the interchange with Provincial Road 550, Luu Vinh Son commune, Thach Ha district connecting to Ha Tinh city, National Highway 1A). The maximum speed is 80 km/hour.

For the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway, vehicles are permitted to travel from the beginning of the project at Km514+300 to the end at Km568+496 in both North-South and South directions, including 3 interchanges (Cam Quan interchange on National Highway 1, Cam Quan commune, Cam Xuyen district, connecting to National Highway 1A leading to Cam Xuyen district center and Thien Cam tourist area; Ky Trung interchange, Ky Trung commune, Ky Anh district, connecting to National Highway 1A leading to Ky Anh district center; and National Highway 12C interchange, Ky Tan commune, Ky Anh district, connecting to Vung Ang Economic Zone and Ky Anh town). Vehicles are allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 80 km/hour.

For the Bung - Van Ninh expressway, vehicles will be able to use the route from the Cu Nam interchange (approximately Km626+690.35) to the QL9B interchange (approximately Km673+750). The project has put into operation approximately 47/48.84 km of the main route and 4/4 interchanges, including: the Cu Nam interchange (approximately Km626+690.35), Viet Trung interchange (approximately Km643+480), Nhat Le 2 interchange (approximately Km653+850), and QL9B interchange (approximately Km673+750).

Regarding the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway, vehicles were permitted to travel on the route at 6:00 AM on April 20th. Specifically, vehicles were allowed to use the route from the Van Gia interchange (approximately Km299+812) to the QL27C interchange (approximately Km368+350), connecting with the currently operating Nha Trang - Cam Lam section.

Also on the morning of April 19th, the Housing and Urban Development Investment Corporation (HUD) held the groundbreaking ceremony for Buildings B1 and B2 of the social housing project in Dong Van Ward, Duy Tien Town, Ha Nam Province. Attending the ceremony were representatives from the Party Committee of the Government, leaders from the Ministry of Construction, and the Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Construction and Vietnam Television (VTV) to review and finalize the script so that the ceremony would be solemn and meaningful, creating an atmosphere that spreads patriotic spirit to the community.

The ceremony will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on April 19th (instead of the previously announced time of 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM) and will be conducted both in-person and online, simultaneously connecting 80 key projects across all three regions of the country. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Deputy Prime Ministers will be present at the key locations.

The main event will take place at Terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, with the participation of the Prime Minister.

The final preparations are complete, ready to join other locations in 33 provinces and cities for the biggest live television broadcast ever.
