From the heart of sharing...
After nearly a day of being completely isolated due to floods, hundreds of households in low-lying areas in Thai Nguyen were left isolated, without electricity, without water, and unable to communicate. Images of flares flickering in the vast night of water were widely shared on social networks, moving the community.

In Lao Cai , many people could not help but feel heartbroken when witnessing that scene. Just last year, the old Lao Cai city area also experienced similar difficult days. That understanding and sympathy quickly turned into practical action: volunteer groups, individuals, and small traders in Lao Cai urgently donated and supported food, necessities... to help Thai Nguyen people overcome the disaster.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Lien in Lao Cai ward, as soon as she heard that the Charity Rice Fund would go to Thai Nguyen to provide relief, proactively collected more than 1 ton of clean vegetables and at the same time mobilized relatives and friends to join hands. In just a few hours, dozens of sacks of green vegetables, peanuts, sesame, fish cakes... were brought to the gathering point by her. A week ago, she also had a volunteer trip to support people in Van Ban commune, Lao Cai.
Ms. Lien shared: This time I cannot go with the group, so I have to contribute from the rear by supporting food. Everyone contributes something, each person a little, together it will be a great kindness to help the people in the flood area overcome the difficulties soon.

Mr. Bui Van Tam, currently living in Cam Duong ward, also actively contributed goods for the trip. Previously, during the Yagi storm in 2024, he connected with friends in Hanoi , donated and transported relief goods to Lao Cai. Returning to live here, he still maintained that spirit. He and his wife did not hesitate, quickly bringing many bags of rice and clean vegetables to support the people of Thai Nguyen.
...To the journey of love

After agreeing on the program, the Charity Rice Fund quickly prepared the trip with a team of volunteers ready to travel overnight. At the gathering point, the working atmosphere was urgent. The inventory takers, the packers, the porters... all were rushing with a common spirit: to get the 2 charity buses rolling to the flooded areas as soon as possible.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Head of the Charity Rice Fund, said: In less than 24 hours of calling, the group received tons of necessities, including rice, vegetables, instant noodles, dried foods and cash from individuals and small businesses in Lao Cai.
Each bag of rice, box of noodles, bag of vegetables… is not only a necessity, but also a heart, coming to the people of Thai Nguyen, wishing them good health. The group members at home will continue to receive food to supply the group.

The Kindness Rice Fund group brought along a whole system of field kitchens, ready to serve hundreds of meals every day. This is not the first time the group has accompanied people in disaster areas. During the impact of Typhoon Yagi in 2024 in Lao Cai, the Kindness Rice Fund kitchen cooked more than 3,000 meals every day for affected households.
Early tomorrow morning (October 9), the relief convoy from Lao Cai is expected to arrive in Thai Nguyen, set up kitchens and provide food in areas arranged by the local government. The meaningful trip brings hope, is a warm support, a source of encouragement for people in the flooded areas of Thai Nguyen to have more confidence to overcome difficulties.
