Dong Nai: Spreading patriotic emulation movement, arousing the desire to contribute

At the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, Dong Nai honored many outstanding collectives and individuals, spreading the spirit of solidarity and creativity, arousing the aspiration for development in the new era.

On October 15, Dong Nai province organized the first Patriotic Emulation Congress, period 2025-2030, and honored many typical and advanced collectives and individuals in all fields.

Many movements are spreading

Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc emphasized that this is an important socio -political event, aiming to summarize and evaluate the patriotic emulation movement in the 2020-2025 period, commend exemplary models, and at the same time determine the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 period.

“The congress is an opportunity for us to arouse the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and the desire to contribute of each Dong Nai citizen, together building a green, civilized, and modern province,” said Mr. Duc.

In the 2020-2025 period, despite facing many difficulties due to natural disasters and pandemics, patriotic emulation movements in Dong Nai still maintained strong vitality, becoming a driving force to promote socio-economic development of the whole province.

The movement “The whole province joins hands to build new rural areas” has achieved many outstanding results: 67/72 communes meet new rural standards (93%), 25 communes meet advanced new rural standards and 8 communes meet model new rural standards. These figures show the determination of the entire political system and people in improving the quality of life in rural areas.

Meanwhile, the movement "For the poor - No one left behind" is maintained regularly, with many models of solidarity and mutual assistance, revolving capital contribution helping more than 1,700 poor households access loans of over 5 billion VND to develop production and stabilize their lives.

Captain Thai Ngo Hieu is a typical individual honored at the congress.

In particular, in the movement "The whole country unites, joins hands, and competes to prevent, fight and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic", Dong Nai has mobilized huge resources from businesses and people, with a total value of contributions in cash and kind of more than 1,200 billion VND, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, sharing and overcoming difficulties of the whole society.

The movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025" also made its mark when Dong Nai supported the construction and repair of more than 2,000 houses, exceeding the set plan by 114%.

Honoring typical examples

At the congress, 52 typical and advanced collectives and 226 individuals received certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, of which 50 typical and excellent collectives and individuals were commended.

Among them, Le Huynh Trung Nhan, a student at Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, is one of the youngest delegates to be honored. Nhan said that the award at the congress is a great source of pride and motivation for him to continue to strive to study, be creative and contribute to his homeland. With his passion for Chemistry, Nhan has won many awards in provincial and national competitions for excellent students, becoming a typical example for the young generation of Dong Nai.

Ms. Ton Ngoc Hanh, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Dong Nai province spoke at the congress.

The emulation movement must be organized practically and effectively, closely linked to the political tasks of each agency and unit. “Emulation is not just a slogan but must become a concrete action, spreading to each individual, each family, each organization, so that everyone competes, every family competes,” Ms. Hanh emphasized.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also requested that all levels and authorities should focus on inspection and evaluation work, promptly commend and reward the right people for the right work; pay attention to discovering and nurturing new factors and initiatives that bring efficiency in production, study and work.

In particular, it is necessary to promptly encourage and reward direct laborers; workers, farmers, pupils and students who are contributing day and night to creating new vitality for the patriotic emulation movement.

Entering the 2025-2030 period, Dong Nai aims to continue promoting the emulation movement with the theme: "Solidarity, creativity, emulation to build Dong Nai province to develop green, civilized, modern, and together with the whole country to enter a new era".

The Congress Organizing Committee also launched a movement to join hands to support people in the northern provinces to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

That competitive spirit is not only a slogan, but also a driving force for each individual and each collective to promote initiatives, innovation, and join hands to build Dong Nai to become increasingly rich, beautiful, civilized, and worthy of being a dynamic industrial province, the development center of the Southeast region.
