Located in the northwest of Da Nang, the Golden Hills City ecological urban area project is located on the extended Nguyen Tat Thanh road and adjacent to the Cu De river.

Golden Hills City has a total area of ​​over 381 hectares in Hoa Hiep Bac and Hoa Hiep Nam wards (Lien Chieu district) and Hoa Lien commune (Hoa Vang district), Da Nang city, invested by Trung Nam Joint Stock Company (a member of Trung Nam Group) with a total initial capital of about 4,447 billion VND, implementation progress from 2010 - 2016.

According to the plan, the project has 6 main functional zones: Zone A has an area of ​​86 hectares, including townhouses, villas, and green parks. Zone B has an area of ​​45 hectares, including townhouses, villas, offices, hospitals, supermarkets, squares, and museums. Zone C has an area of ​​76 hectares, including townhouses and luxury villas. Zone D has a total area of ​​122 hectares, including eco-villas and marinas. Zone E has an area of ​​45 hectares, including sports and entertainment areas. The island zone has an area of ​​2 hectares, including special isolated villas.

The project was allocated land by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in 2008, granted an investment certificate in March 2010, and implemented within 50 years from the date of granting the investment certificate with the goal of investing in and building a civilized and modern ecological urban area. The project is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 from 2010-2013 and phase 2 from 2013-2016.

After that, Da Nang issued pink books for hundreds of hectares of land belonging to the project and the investor sold many villas and townhouses. However, in 2012, the Government Inspectorate concluded that the project had violations related to land allocation, land lease, and investment licensing that were not in accordance with regulations. Specifically, the Da Nang People's Committee issued an investment registration certificate for the project but did not complete the procedures to submit to the Prime Minister for approval according to regulations, and allocated land without auction.

According to Da Nang City, the consideration of project adjustment is currently under the Prime Minister's authority, so in June 2023, the People's Committee of Da Nang City sent an official dispatch to the Prime Minister's working group, the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Planning and Investment, requesting consideration of the investor's proposals.

Recently, the investor proposed to adjust and update investor information, project name including adding content of building houses for sale or rent, lease purchase. The investor also proposed to increase the scale, total investment capital from 4,447 billion VND to 7,648 billion VND and proposed to adjust the project progress from 2010 - 2016 to 2023 - 2029.

In June 2024, Da Nang continued to send an official dispatch to the Prime Minister and relevant ministries and branches to consider and handle the investor's petition, but there has been no response yet.

Road infrastructure and trees at the project have been basically completed.

However, according to the reporter's records, this urban area is currently a block of buildings that have been completed and then abandoned, without a single person.

Many houses have been built on the rough construction and left abandoned.

Weeds are growing wildly inside the project because no one has cleaned it for a long time.

Even the Golden Hills City project with a total investment of thousands of billions of dong is also a place for people living nearby to raise cows.

Some infrastructure within the project area is starting to show signs of deterioration and damage.
