The 14 billion drainage project is completed, will Trang Dai intersection stop flooding?

People expect the flood control project on Bui Trong Nghia and Dong Khoi streets to help drain water at the Trang Dai intersection.

On November 26, the Bien Hoa City Project Management Board ( Dong Nai ) coordinated with relevant units and sectors to organize the acceptance and operation of the project to repair and renovate the drainage system along Bui Trong Nghia Street connecting to Dong Khoi Street. This is one of the major flood control projects in Dong Nai.

The project to repair and renovate the drainage system along Bui Trong Nghia Street, nearly 1km long, will be under construction from June 2024. The project is invested by Bien Hoa Project Management Board. The total investment cost of the project is nearly 14 billion VND from the Bien Hoa city budget.

Previously, in 2023, Bien Hoa city also implemented a flood prevention project from Dong Khoi bridge (Trang Dai intersection) to gas station 26 with an investment cost of more than 23 billion VND and completed in early 2024.

However, during the recent rainy season, flooding at Trang Dai intersection where there is a flood prevention project still occurred. One of the causes of flooding is that water from Bui Trong Nghia Street has not been collected by the underground canal system but overflowed onto the road surface along with a lot of waste.

When reaching the Trang Dai Ward intersection, the garbage clogs the water intakes. Therefore, the completion of the project to repair and renovate the drainage system along Bui Trong Nghia Street is expected to contribute to reducing flooding that has lasted for many years in this area.

To completely overcome the flooding situation in the area considered the flood center of Bien Hoa city, in the coming time, the city will continue to invest in implementing the drainage ditch project at alley 68, Dong Khoi street and dredging the existing stream to clear the flow.

According to many residents, the completion of this flood control project will help them feel more secure when traveling on the road during the rainy season. For many years, people have had to endure flooding on all sides, and wading through water to get home after work is very difficult.
