According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 29, heat waves appeared across the entire Northern region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang , and in the east of provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, with some places experiencing severe heat.

The highest daily temperature is commonly between 35-38 degrees Celsius. Some places recorded temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius such as: Yen Chau station (Son La) 39.1 degrees Celsius, Lao Cai station 38.2 degrees Celsius, Bac Me station (Tuyen Quang) 39.6 degrees Celsius, Cho Ra station (Thai Nguyen) 38.3 degrees Celsius, Lang station ( Hanoi ) 38.2 degrees Celsius, Hoi Xuan station (Thanh Hoa) 38.1 degrees Celsius, Cam Ranh station (Khanh Hoa) 38.5 degrees Celsius...

It is forecasted that today, July 30, the hot weather will continue to spread over the above areas, with some places experiencing severe heat. The lowest relative humidity is generally 55-60%. From the night of July 30 and July 31, rain will first appear in mountainous and midland areas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain at night, and scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day.

Other areas have scattered showers and thunderstorms; in particular, the western region of Quang Tri province, the Central Highlands and the South have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 60mm. People need to be on guard during thunderstorms with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

On July 31, heat waves will continue to appear in the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa to Da Nang, and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa. The highest temperature is generally 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places above 37 degrees Celsius. Other places in the North will experience localized heat waves with the highest temperature in some places above 35 degrees Celsius. There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night.

It is forecasted that from August 1, the heat wave will end in the Northern region, while the heat wave in the Central region is likely to last for many days to come.

The meteorological agency warns that the risk of natural disasters due to heat is level 1. Due to the effects of heat, some places have severe heat combined with low humidity in the air, so there is a high risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased demand for electricity, along with the risk of forest fires.

In addition, heat can also cause dehydration, exhaustion, and heat stroke in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting noted that the predicted temperature in the heat bulletin and the actual temperature felt outdoors may differ by 2-4 degrees Celsius, or even higher, depending on the conditions of the surface such as concrete and asphalt.
