The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just released a weather forecast for the National Day holiday on September 2. Accordingly, from August 20 to 25, the Central region will have rain, showers and thunderstorms, with little chance of heat waves.
From August 26 to 31, thunderstorms will appear in the Central region in the afternoon and evening, and the day will be sunny. The highest temperature during the day will generally be below 35 degrees Celsius and there is no sign of widespread heat.
In the Central Highlands and the South, from August 20 to 31, there will be thunderstorms (showers and thunderstorms concentrated in the afternoon and evening). The highest temperature during the day in the Central Highlands is from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature during the day in the South is from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius.
From September 1 to September 5, 2025, the Northern and Central regions will generally have little rain and sunny days. The Central region is likely to experience heat waves. The Central Highlands and the South will have sunny days and showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Notably, according to Mr. Huong, from now until the end of August 2025, the Northern and Central regions will have thunderstorms, with the possibility of moderate rain, heavy rain in some places, accompanied by the risk of flash floods and landslides. In coastal areas with strong winds, there is a possibility of tropical depressions forming and appearing, so it is necessary to pay attention to the updated news on the website www.nchmf.gov.vn of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
Heavy rains are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes (real-time warning information on areas at risk of flash floods and landslides is provided online on the website of the Department of Hydrometeorology at: https://luquetsatlo.nchmf.gov.vn and in separate bulletins warning of flash floods and landslides).
Flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
According to the guidance of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), in the face of the above situation, affected areas should closely monitor developments of heavy rain, floods, flash floods, landslides, and promptly and fully inform authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent, respond, and minimize damage.
Localities deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas to proactively organize the relocation and evacuation of people in areas at high risk of deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides; organize forces ready to control and direct traffic, and place warning signs, especially through culverts, spillways, and areas with deep flooding and fast-flowing water; proactively arrange forces, materials, and means to overcome incidents, ensuring smooth traffic on main traffic routes when heavy rain occurs...
Regarding dangerous weather conditions at sea, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment recommends that affected provinces and cities closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds and large waves at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle possible bad situations.
Localities should prepare forces and means to carry out rescue work when there is a situation, and at the same time organize serious on-duty teams and regularly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control).
