The Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) is a member unit of the University of Danang, a pioneer in building an international educational environment right in Central Vietnam - where knowledge, innovation and global connectivity intersect. With a system of training programs from undergraduate to postgraduate levels oriented towards international standards, VNUK constantly expands strategic cooperation with prestigious universities around the world.

One of the most prominent is the Master of English Language Teaching (MA TESOL) program - the result of many years of effective cooperation between VNUK and Nottingham Trent University (NTU), one of the leading modern universities in the UK. Not only does it provide a learning experience with a strong international imprint, MA TESOL is also a testament to VNUK's commitment to providing high-quality, affordable, and globally-ready learning opportunities.
Flexible study abroad opportunities at reasonable costs
The VNUK x NTU MA TESOL program lasts 12 months with a flexible study path between Vietnam and the UK, helping students save time and money while experiencing an international educational environment. Specifically, the course is divided into 3 stages:
- The first 3 months of studying at the Vietnam - UK Research and Training Institute (VNUK), Danang University to gradually get used to international standard learning and research methods.
- Next 6 months study at Nottingham Trent University (UK) to expand knowledge and skills with international lecturers and classmates.
- Final 3 months to complete graduation thesis, optionally done in Vietnam or UK under the guidance of VNUK and NTU lecturers.
This flexible route helps students shorten the time and cost of studying abroad in the UK, while also broadening their horizons and absorbing diverse knowledge from both Eastern and Western academic environments.

In particular, the total tuition fee for the entire program is £9,000 - only half of the £18,000 when studying a Master of TESOL directly in the UK. This tuition fee is also divided into three installments instead of paying once, helping to reduce financial pressure for students.
In addition to the cost, the program also has an open admission policy: it does not require candidates to have graduated from university with a major in English Pedagogy or have previous teaching experience. As long as they are passionate about teaching and have an English level equivalent to IELTS 6.5, students can confidently apply to become students of this TESOL Master's program.
Global, hands-on learning experience
By participating in the MA TESOL program, students are immersed in a dynamic and advanced international training environment. During the 6 months of study in the UK, students will study directly with experienced lecturers from Nottingham Trent University and interact with friends from many countries, thereby expanding their professional and cultural understanding. Right from the beginning in Vietnam, the program has created conditions for students to access modern research and teaching methods according to international standards, helping them confidently catch up when transferring to the semester in the UK.

In addition to academic knowledge, the program focuses on developing teaching skills through practical experience. During the course, students can be given the opportunity to participate in teaching assistantships at VNUK - a valuable opportunity to apply knowledge to teaching English in a diverse classroom environment.
In parallel, the “Developing Classroom Practice” course at NTU requires students to directly teach in class and receive feedback from instructors, thereby continuously improving and perfecting teaching skills. Thanks to the harmonious combination of advanced theory and practical practice, many graduates of the program have confidently developed their teaching careers, and at the same time become “seniors” who are ready to support and share experiences for the following courses.
Prestigious British Master's Degree, Open Career Opportunities
Upon completion of the program, students will receive a Master's degree in TESOL from Nottingham Trent University (NTU) - an internationally recognized degree from one of the most prestigious universities in the UK. Despite studying half the time in Vietnam with preferential tuition fees, students' final degree is still recognized as equivalent to studying directly in the UK.

Nottingham Trent University has a long-standing reputation for excellent teaching, research and student experience, especially for its high graduate employment opportunities. The university was named Guardian University of the Year 2019 and ranked in the top 16 universities in the UK, and is also in the top 3 universities with the highest graduate employment rate in the UK (according to HESA).
With that advantage, a Master’s degree awarded by NTU will be a “golden ticket” to help students open up promising career prospects in the education sector, both in Vietnam and in the international market. Many graduates of the MA TESOL VNUK-NTU are currently teaching English at many levels, from primary to university, or taking on language training positions at educational institutions in Vietnam and abroad.
