Lam Dong proactively responds to storm No. 10

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document directing the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to proactively respond to storm No. 10 (BUALOI).

Accordingly, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors, People's Committees of communes and wards in special zones to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of the storm; notify captains and owners of vehicles and boats anchored at the port or operating at sea to proactively avoid them. At the same time, have appropriate production plans, ensure safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur, absolutely do not let passivity or surprise happen in any situation.

Localities deploy shock forces to inspect and review coastal residential areas, streams, low-lying areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides to proactively implement response measures and minimize damage, especially in areas that have experienced heavy rain in recent days; prepare forces and means to carry out rescue work when situations arise; implement plans and solutions to prevent heavy rain, flooding, and landslides in the locality.

Local authorities of Dam Rong 4 commune (Lam Dong) proactively took measures to prevent and cope with storm No. 10 on the afternoon of September 27.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee also requested the Provincial Civil Defense Command to closely monitor the situation and weather developments, be on duty 24/7, promptly inform and warn the people; review areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and inundation, organize evacuation of people to safe places when necessary; prepare forces, means, and materials according to the motto "4 on-site" to respond and overcome incidents promptly and effectively when required.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to direct the inspection, review and implementation of plans to ensure the safety of reservoirs and hydroelectric dams in the province in accordance with the developments of rain and floods, focusing on directing the operation of hydroelectric reservoirs, ensuring the safety of works in downstream areas, especially in emergency flood discharge situations.
