Good production and business contribute to building new rural areas in Bac Ruong

Farmers of Bac Ruong commune, Lam Dong province have been promoting their role as the main subject, actively responding to the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty".

Farmers' Association "5 self, 5 together"

As a purely agricultural commune, in recent years, the Farmers' Association of Bac Ruong commune has focused on recruiting members, coordinating with departments and branches to support technology transfer, and borrowing capital to develop production and business according to suitable models in the locality. By the end of this year, the whole commune had 2,915 members/4,702 farmers, reaching a gathering rate of 62%. Thereby, 14 branches (12 village farmers' branches, 2 professional branches), 71 associations in the area have been guided by the Farmers' Association of Bac Ruong commune to develop branch and professional association models according to the criteria of "5 self, 5 together". That is: same field of labor, production, business, service; same interest; same sharing; same responsibility; same benefit to attract and gather a large number of farmers to participate, creating close ties between members and the association. Every year, the number of farmers' associations that are good and strong reaches 100%.

With the same orientation on agricultural land, the branches and farmer associations of Bac Ruong commune have proactively implemented the project of restructuring the agricultural sector towards increasing the value chain of output products, prioritizing the development of agricultural production towards VietGAP, organic and improved rice production methods (SRI). The total area of ​​annual crops increased by 3.8% compared to 5 years ago; the total food output increased from 43,200 tons (in 2020) to 46,300 tons (in 2025), an increase of 7%. In particular, the mechanization rate in agricultural production stages reached about 90%. By the end of 2025, the whole Bac Ruong commune is expected to have 950 good farming and business households. The average income per capita reached nearly 56/42.1 million VND, an increase of nearly 14 million VND. The locality has 3 products recognized as 3-star OCOP.

The good producers and traders are farmers, farm owners, directors of agricultural service cooperatives, who have made positive contributions to the economic development and local life. They are the typical people, representing a new generation of professional, modern farmers in the renovation period - daring to think, daring to do, having the will to get rich, dynamic, creative and bold in applying science and technology to large-scale production to achieve high economic efficiency. Many good farmers are willing to share their experiences, directly "hold hands and show them how to do things", helping poor households develop production, create jobs and stabilize their lives.

Associated with new rural construction

Many value chain linkage models between good production and business households - cooperatives - enterprises have been formed and replicated. Farm models, concentrated production areas, high-tech applications, production according to VietGAP and organic standards, combined with product consumption are developing, contributing to improving productivity, quality, product value, increasing competitiveness, in line with modern agricultural trends.

Through that, farmer members donate land for rural roads, participate in working days to build and repair welfare works, repair rural roads; dredge intra-field canals, drainage ditches, clean the environment, keep village roads green, clean and beautiful”, Mr. Phan Van Tan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Bac Ruong commune shared.

It can be seen that the proactive innovation of thinking, application of science and technology, and production cooperation by farmers' members have contributed positively to sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction in the locality. Bac Ruong will meet new rural and advanced new rural standards by the end of 2024.
