Tourists crowd into Hue relics on National Day September 2

Early in the morning of National Day, September 2, on many central streets of Hue City (Thua Thien - Hue) such as Hanoi , Le Duan, Nguyen Hue..., a dense stream of vehicles moved one after another.

Among these, there are quite a few vehicles with out-of-province license plates of tourists visiting Hue. In particular, at relic sites that are open free of charge to Vietnamese people such as the Imperial City, Tu Duc Tomb, Khai Dinh Tomb, etc., the number of visitors is quite large.

Many tourists had to accept that it would take about an hour to get to the Hue Imperial City and they were stunned to see the number of people there. "Perhaps we have never seen such a huge number of people pouring into the Imperial City as today," said a tourist from Hanoi.

The number of visitors is quite large, along with the hot weather, so taking photos at tourist attractions this morning seems to be difficult for tourists who want to keep memories of their visit to Hue.

According to the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien - Hue province, on the occasion of National Day September 2 this year, the locality also organized a number of cultural and sports activities to serve the local community such as the 35th traditional boat race of Thua Thien - Hue province on the Huong River on the morning of September 2.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien - Hue province, said that from August 30 to September 3, the total number of tourists to the province is estimated to reach 120,000, an increase of 22.4% compared to the same period of National Day in 2023, with revenue from tourism services estimated at 132 billion VND.

Of which, the number of guests staying is forecast to reach 48,000, including 16,500 international visitors (an increase of 31.3% compared to the 2023 holiday). The average room occupancy rate of hotels is about 64%, especially on August 31 and September 1, the room occupancy rate of many accommodation establishments is over 80%. Most hotels in the center of Hue city, coastal resorts, lagoons and waterfalls, homestays in Hue city, Phu Loc district and A Luoi district are almost fully booked for these 2 days.

"The trend of tourists during this holiday is to travel in family groups by private car and train, with the need to relax and experience exploring local culture and nature," said Mr. Phuc.
