Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy is a public service unit under the Ministry of Health , with prestige in training medical human resources, scientific research, medical examination and treatment and innovation.
The school is currently training more than 7,000 students at all levels, including hundreds of international students from Laos, Cambodia, Mozambique and Korea. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 25,000 doctors, pharmacists, and medical bachelors, including more than 1,200 doctors and pharmacists for other countries.
Along with training, Thai Binh Medical University Hospital, under Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, is a facility for practice, clinical internship and scientific research for students and trainees. The hospital is invested with modern facilities, a team of highly qualified doctors and lecturers, providing quality medical examination and treatment services for people in and outside the province.

At the meeting, delegates discussed the plan to build Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy at a new campus following the smart university model. The school strives to have an expected training scale of about 12,000 students by 2030 and proposes to the province to arrange land funds to ensure university education facility standards of about 450,000-600,000m2.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Than affirmed: The development of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy is the pride of the province. He emphasized that the locality always wants the school to continue to grow, not only affirming its position domestically, but also reaching regional and international levels.

To achieve this goal, the prerequisite is modern and synchronous facilities. Therefore, the province proposes to study the master plan and build the school in a new location with a large scale, in accordance with the standards of a smart university. In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on comprehensively developing the school on site and gradually implementing a suitable decentralization plan. The province commits to resolutely directing the site clearance work, creating favorable conditions for the effective implementation of the project.
Regarding the direction of decentralization of management, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that he will continue to coordinate with ministries and branches to study appropriate decentralization plans, ensuring autonomy and improving the efficiency of school operations.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc highly appreciated the province's attention and close direction for the development of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy; at the same time, he requested the school to soon complete the construction plan at the new location to report to the Ministry of Health for consideration and approval.
The Deputy Minister of Health also agreed with the direction of researching a decentralized management mechanism suitable to the characteristics of the school, hoping to continue to receive attention and support from Hung Yen province so that the school can develop sustainably and build a strong brand among medical and pharmaceutical schools nationwide.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc and the working delegation conducted a field survey of the area where the second campus of Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy is expected to be built in Tran Lam ward (Vu Chinh commune, old Thai Binh city).
