Booking.com's 2024 Travel Predictions report found that nearly two-thirds (66%) of travelers from the Asia- Pacific region said they would travel just to get uninterrupted sleep.

Accordingly, due to the increasingly frequent occurrence of sleep disorders, sleep tourism has emerged as a unique solution, both bringing the appeal of a trip and at the same time addressing the essential need for quality sleep.

Tourists lie in their rooms and enjoy the view of nature during their trip.

Mr. Varun Grover, Country Director of Booking in Vietnam, commented that as society becomes more and more hectic, sleep is gradually becoming a valuable resource.

Sleep tourism is predicted to be a popular trend in the future. According to him, nearly 67% of Vietnamese tourists seek vacations just to sleep well, showing that the Vietnamese tourism industry needs to change. Accommodation facilities need to provide more amenities and convenient services to bring tourists a healthy and relaxing vacation.

Changes in human health awareness and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic have made “sleep tourism” gradually become popular.

This trend is particularly popular in China, where 83% of travelers seek vacations focused entirely on sleep.

Next are Hong Kong and Thailand with 76% and 75% respectively. Vietnam ranked 6th, equal to Singapore with a rate of 67%.
