Travel in the footsteps of revolutionary predecessors

Rarely does a local provincial capital have the Lo River winding along Dum Mountain like Tuyen Quang. The romantic, soaring beauty of the symbol “Lo River, Dum Mountain” has entered countless poems, music, and paintings.

The bustling atmosphere of flags and flowers of the August Revolution autumn in the homeland of Tuyen Quang .

After the French colonialists occupied Tuyen Quang, they exploited the mineral mines at Dum Mountain, forcing people to work as forced laborers. At this time, along with the propaganda and enlightenment work of the Northern Regional Party Committee, the first party cell, the Coal Mine Cell in Tuyen Quang, was established, opening a new chapter for the Tuyen Quang revolution.

On the spring day of Tan Ty year 1941, the hammer and sickle flag fluttered on Dum mountain, bringing confidence to many people in the mountain town, signaling the time for revolution had come, sweeping away the feudal colonial regime. And in the autumn of August 1945, Tuyen Quang town was completely liberated, the atmosphere of freedom and independence, the red flag with yellow star, and banners were raised high everywhere.

Today, Dum Mountain - Heaven's Gate is planned by the province to develop tourism with an area of over 2,000 hectares, of which the tourist route to Dum Mountain has been invested and put into use with an amount of over 50 billion VND. When the Truc Lam Chinh Phap Zen Monastery complex is inaugurated and put into use, the spiritual tourism and ecological tourism complex of Dum Mountain - Heaven's Gate, now in Nong Tien ward, has great potential for development.

Located in the middle of the Lo River, not far from the center of Tuyen Quang province, there are two long sandy beaches with the beautiful names Soi Sinh, Soi Hong Luong or also known as Hong Nuong. During the period of fighting against the French colonialists, many revolutionary cadres of Tuyen Quang chose Soi Sinh, Soi Hong Luong as places to carry out revolutionary activities under the protection of the people. Currently, these two sandy beaches are provincial historical relics that need to be preserved and promoted, red addresses to educate the revolutionary tradition of the province.

Before the Tuyen Quang Hydropower Project was built, every year during the flood season, the Lo River water rose high, inundating both soi banks. But now the water level is quite stable, convenient for people on both sides of the river to cultivate and develop the economy. With dozens of hectares of fertile soi banks, local people grow corn, vegetables, mulberry to raise silkworms, elephant grass to raise cattle, and fruit trees. Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Tan Long commune, said that thanks to Soi Sinh, his family can grow mulberry trees to get leaves to raise silkworms, bringing in a good income. The mulberry area of the village has been constantly expanding to nearly ten hectares, many families have more than 1 hectare of mulberry such as Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat, Hoang Van Kinh, Nguyen Van Thang...

Many tourists coming to Tuyen Quang think that Soi Hong Luong is very beautiful. The space at Soi beach is airy, wild, suitable for picnics, camping and relaxing on weekends. If Tuyen Quang exploits tours following the footsteps of revolutionary predecessors, such as visiting Mo Than Temple, Dum Mountain, Soi Hong Luong, Soi Sinh, it will be quite interesting and surprising for tourists, even tourists from within the province.
