Cantaloupe is rich in electrolytes.

Specialist Doctor 2 Huynh Tan Vu, Head of the Day Treatment Unit, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, said that cantaloupe, also known as honeydew melon, is a fruit that both cools the body and improves health. According to Oriental medicine, cantaloupe has a sweet taste, cool properties, and has the effect of quenching thirst, eliminating annoyance, promoting ventilation, and diuresis, and can prevent heatstroke on hot days.

Cantaloupe contains 90% water and electrolytes such as potassium, magnesium, sodium and calcium, which help hydrate and cool the body on hot summer days. In addition, cantaloupe is rich in nutrients, fiber and good plant compounds, bringing many health benefits such as enhancing cardiovascular health, supporting blood sugar improvement, maintaining healthy bones and teeth, etc.

With a very cool sweet taste, drinking a glass of cantaloupe with milk or cantaloupe smoothie on a hot summer afternoon will help quench your thirst.

Cantaloupe is 90% water and contains electrolytes.

When choosing cantaloupe, you should choose a thin-skinned, large, round, heavy melon, when pressed lightly, the melon should feel soft and have a faint aroma, then it is a good melon. You should choose ripe melons with signs of cracks on the skin, the melon will be the most delicious and sweet. You should not choose cracked melons, which are easily rotten and spoiled inside. Eating a lot of raw cantaloupe can easily cause stomachache, people who have just recovered from illness and those with weak spleen and stomach should avoid eating.

Grapefruit is a rich source of vitamin C.

Like other citrus fruits, such as oranges and tangerines, grapefruit is an excellent source of vitamin C with 50% of the body's recommended daily intake in just half a grapefruit.

They are also a rich source of vitamin A and fiber and antioxidants that help improve the body's resistance, improve the immune system, and recover faster after a cold. You can eat them directly or make a cool glass of grapefruit juice to bring a refreshing feeling on a summer day.

Dr. Vu noted that grapefruit juice can cause interactions with certain medications (antibiotics, immunosuppressants, benzodiazepines, most calcium channel blockers, anti-anxiety medications, some statins, etc.). Therefore, it is important to be careful not to use grapefruit juice with these medications.
