Bringing Vietnamese agricultural products to consumers.
Hai Phong has over 9,350 hectares of lychee orchards, with an average annual harvest of 55,000-60,000 tons, concentrated in large-scale production areas. In 2026 alone, the city's total lychee production is estimated at approximately 55,000 tons, including about 35,000 tons of early-season lychees and 20,000 tons of main-season lychees.
The communes of the former Thanh Ha district currently have approximately 3,530 hectares of lychee orchards, with an annual production of 35,000-40,000 tons. Thanks to favorable soil and climate conditions, along with cultivation processes that meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, Thanh Ha lychees have a delicious, refreshing flavor, high nutritional value, and are favored by consumers. It is also one of the 10 prestigious national brand products, protected by geographical indication.
On May 24th – the first day Thanh Ha lychees were sold at GO! Ha Long Supermarket ( Quang Ninh ), approximately 1 ton of lychees were placed on the shelves to meet customer demand.
According to Ms. Pham Viet Nu, Director of GO! Ha Long Supermarket, the supermarket has arranged a lychee display area near the entrance, combined with creative and eye-catching miniature landscapes to create a focal point to attract buyers. Visitors and shoppers can also enjoy free samples of processed lychee products such as lychee tea, lychee jelly, and lychee cakes. Many customers have praised Thanh Ha lychees for their freshness, rich sweetness, and refreshing aroma, indicating positive sales potential for the product within the supermarket system.

Ms. Pham Thi Thuy from Cao Xanh ward (Quang Ninh province) said that when she went shopping at GO! Quang Ninh supermarket on May 24th, she was very impressed to see Thanh Ha lychees on display. After trying a free sample, she found the lychees to have thick flesh, be sweet, fragrant, and juicy; the listed price was 39,000 VND/kg. According to Ms. Thuy, the product has a clear origin, guaranteed quality, and a reasonable price, so she felt confident in choosing it.
At Aeon Mall Hai Phong - Le Chan supermarket, from May 22nd to 24th, Thanh Ha lychees were introduced and sold to consumers. “Previously, if my family wanted to eat Thanh Ha lychees, we had to order them from acquaintances, have them packaged, and ship them via passenger bus. Since this agricultural product has been introduced into the supermarket system, its origin and source are clearly stated, its freshness and taste are guaranteed, and the packaging and variety of designs make it suitable for gifts, so I choose to buy them,” said Ms. Dang Thi Hoa, from Residential Group No. 15, An Bien Ward (Hai Phong).
Expand the supply chain
Since the beginning of 2026, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has proactively coordinated with major distribution and export businesses such as GO! Vietnam, AEON Top Value Vietnam, DRAGONBERRY Vietnam Co., Ltd., Ameii Vietnam JSC, and Red Dragon Fruit Vietnam Co., Ltd. to plan lychee growing areas and link production with product consumption.
According to Mr. Duong Minh Quang, Deputy General Director of Saigon Co.op, supporting lychee growers in Thanh Ha is also part of Saigon Co.op's long-term strategy to support the consumption of Vietnamese agricultural products, spread quality Vietnamese goods, and create more opportunities for sustainable development of the local economy.
From May 27th to June 10th, the system is implementing a promotional program offering discounts of up to 20% on Thanh Ha lychees to stimulate consumer demand and make it easier for people nationwide to access this local specialty during the summer. Saigon Co.op also organized a supply-demand connection conference between the retail system and businesses, cooperatives, and suppliers in Hai Phong to expand opportunities for long-term cooperation in various product categories in the future.
According to the plan, 300 tons of Thanh Ha lychees will be distributed throughout the season at Saigon Co.op stores nationwide. Many sales points are also enhancing promotional spaces for Hai Phong specialties, organizing product trials, introducing typical OCOP products, and communicating stories about the growing region, contributing to increasing consumer experiences associated with Vietnamese agricultural products.

In addition to focusing on expanding linkages and product consumption, ensuring the quality of the supply chain is also a priority. As a supplier of Thanh Ha lychees, Mr. Pham Cong Toi, Director of Thanh Ha Safe Vegetable and Fruit Company Limited, committed to maintaining product quality, stabilizing prices, and ensuring a continuous and safe supply chain to meet the needs of supermarket chains as well as domestic and international consumers. The company hopes to receive support in bringing its lychee products to e-commerce platforms to expand its reach to customers and consumers.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Luong Thi Kiem, the department has recently strengthened coordination with functional agencies in several neighboring provinces and cities to organize many activities to promote and introduce Thanh Ha lychees at supermarket systems. The department is always ready to create favorable conditions for businesses, organizations, and traders to visit the production area, survey, and purchase lychees in the locality.
